Some of the stupidest women you ever did see, parading their ignorance.

DomKen -> RE: RNC Trophy Wives -- Class of 2011 (6/21/2011 2:54:48 PM)

Miss USA, Alyssa Campanella, is both hot and seems reasonably smart. Most of the rest...

I do not know what wives have to do with who gets nominated for the job

Michelle Obama is a hard act to follow, but lets face it, it doesn't really matter, either

I don't either and I was even more confused when I clicked on the link and it's the miss usa contest and nothing to do with wives, republicans or politics. Maybe fargle thinks the contest with all those girls  is  some kind of religious experience

He's an ideologue who sees nothing but the political divide and he is someone who dehumanizes all who disagree with his own particular views.

Any and everything is related to political ideology with such a person, even what one eats, the clothes one wears, where one lives, the color and consistency of their feces ... or the questions and answers in a beauty contest.

This type of mental rigidity can lead to anarchy, genocide and/or civil war when such people gain too much sway in a nation.

Actually farglebargle has some very astute observations, and I am just as ideological as he is....so I don't mind that, either.

Julia, I don't generally believe that you are an "ideologue" such as I mean with fargle.

You have a well formed view of life, based on principles you believe in.  But you also display the ability and flexibility to consider and think outside the confining box of any particular ideology.

Being an "ideologue" don't mean someone who  has a well formed, and defensible worldview.  Being an "ideologue" is someone who can't see beyond their own limitations, or accept that others can have valid reasons - other than immoral or evil personalities - to disagree with you.

Well, this might go against all of my feminist principles, but I think that if both parties are in agreement why not?  It's not like one is getting an advantage over the other right?

Well in that case, maybe you can explain what a beauty pageant has to do with republicans or their wives?

Well, where would you go shopping for a new trophy-wife?

And given that they don't even know what science IS, then they're perfect for those who don't 'believe' in Evolution.

Of course, SCIENCE WORKS EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE.

I wouldn't and I fail to see how that is a republican thing.

Who would they be? You do realize a lot of liberals are religious and don't believe in evolution either, right? And you do realize a lot of religious people on both sides do believe in evolution, right? But please, by all means, keep bitching about "them". That way I know who to pay attention to on here and who to ignore.

Of course, SCIENCE WORKS EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE.
duh

The idea of 'believing' in science is hilarious.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: RNC Trophy Wives -- Class of 2011 (6/22/2011 8:17:35 AM)

ummmm, trophy wives.... The dumber the better, I want one....

subrob1967 -> RE: RNC Trophy Wives -- Class of 2011 (6/22/2011 9:55:46 AM)

I'd be willing to bet at least 90% of those contestants would hold Liberal views, but since they're too pretty, they're ineligable to get elected to office. The ugly, mannish liberals reserve that right for themselves... If they have to be miserable and ugly, may as well grab the power to fuck things up for everyone else.

I did not know that believing in god and evolution was mutually exclusive.

Hardly.  Even reactionaries don't believe that hot air descends downward.

So change it for "knowing" and the point is the same.

You don't "BELIEVE" in science.

Science doesn't require belief. That's why it's SCIENCE.

Using Firm's definition of an ideologue, we have another, concerning Feminism.

"Science" is a belief structure, buddy.

And "facts" are beliefs about the physical world, mostly.

You need to study a bit of epistemology.
