Actually I wish I had pictures of why I typed "gree"...
I got called by my fall bluefin fishing partner to tell me he was barrel assing in past cape cod with 2 schoolie tuna and a 9' mako shark and was out of ice. I had to go wake his wife up get his truck keys and go to the ice house for 500lbs of Ice and call the local sushi outfit to get em there by morning.
   Suffice it to say that the ' IT' business isn't quite the same here as it is in other parts of the country.

Going out of your way to be nasty about saying happy birthday shows that the op has issues.

This is a truly lame thread; being annoyed about a birthday thread? Jeez....

I can only assume jealousy on the OP's part.

I actually wish people happy birthday who I never spoke to..what does that make me, too nice?

i haven't read the whole thread. however;

while i'm relatively new here i have had the pleasure of reading FT's posts before he went wherever. from that short time i know he has some issues that are better suited elsewhere at certain times of the year. from other things he has said i could also assume that he spends time where he wouldn't have much signal for being online. i know that things crop up in people's lives and they take a break etc etc etc.

but i like the Troll even though i will never meet him due to the huge expance of water between our respective countries. so why not wish him happy birthday? he may see it without logging in now, or he may see it when he comes back. whatever happens, at least i sent the thought.

I recently butted into a thread celebrating the birthday of a much loved member of CM. As usual I was probably a bit blunt and as usual the wrath of the club and indeed the mighty MODS was swift and merciless. But how serious can a cyber friendship be? Obviously there are people here and on all the other dating/friendship/chat sites who have forged meaningful relationships via this medium....love...marriage...kids...super happy woo hoo....etc.... everything is possible.
But if someone as adored and cherished as this person was can just up and leave without bothering to log in and say hi does this not say something about the transient and temporary nature of internet friendships? You miss him, does he miss you? However many thousands of posts you make you never know when that connection might just stop dead. At least in real life you can pop round to their house and look them in the eyes and say "Whats going on? I thought we were mates?" but not here.
I do not want to belittle the friendships and love that can be built up here, and a lot of the advice given out is top notch but be aware that it is not real life, don't get too attached to your cyber buddie because you never know when they might.............

Given that attitude, I hope you don't get too attached to your real life friends, because after all you never know when they might just up and leave and move somewhere else due to work or whatever...

Some of my best friends I met on the internet, after chatting for a while you talk on the phone, then you meet...

Like my real life friends, I don't own my cyber friends and there is always the chance that they might disappear from my life, unless you marry them and keep them locked in your basement, people can always "disappear" and leave.

Um, you do realize that your screenname is hardcybermaster, right? Don't you see just a bit of a disconnect between your screenname and your OP?

Posting on birthday threads is the way you get into the clique...

~huggles da GreedyOne~

Just wait till next week. I'm due for menopausal meltdown any day now where I plan on spending time vetting politicians. I figure when I'm at a point where I make no sense, it's good to read about people even more unfortunate than I.
