No it shouldn't, because its a flawed concept altogether. First of all there is no such thing as an ISP address, so I am assuming that you mean IP address , If that is the case, then as several people have pointed out, they can be easily changed. First of all, IP addresses can be easily changed, either through various software, by typing a few commands from your keyboard or even by unplugging your modem for a period of time (how long depends on your ISPs DHCP procedures). Second, almost all ISPs now use dynamic addressing (DHCP), which means that they do not assign an IP to you permanently, so the one you have today may not be one you have tomorrow. Third, some ISPs who have a shortage of addresses use a forwarding proxy system, whereby multiple people use the same IP at the same time. And fourth, IP s can easily be masked as well. For all of the above reasons, it just doesn't work in today's day and age. Hope that answers your question. Oh, and BKSir, the IPs assigned by almost all routers are internal IPs and are not visible beyond the router. The ISP assigns an IP to the modem, and that is what is seen on the Internet (unless you mask it of course ) Bob
