I'm not interested in The Heretic’s idea of working with the other side as cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are unacceptable. The more intelligent Democrats are the progressive liberals.

This post is listed as a reply slvemike4u.  I am not sure what "FR to the OP" means.  If it means that you are referring to my post, I can only say the following:

1) I am sorry that you failed to find intelligence in my post
2) You obviously misread or misunderstood the post (related to #1 as well).  I made no attempt whatsoever to sound "even handed".  I was simply making an observation, and stating an opinion / analysis based on that observation.

If you were NOT referring to my post, please disregard #1, and #2 :)

Even though I do not agree with them politically on some issues, I find that statement to be highly accurate.

I believe this a major reason why I am disappointed in both Obama and the Democratic party all together. Its way too laid back. So much of this nonsence could have been headed off. Death panels should have been directly addressed, instead of the two stepping around the issue, for example.

I hunger for a liberal minded President with brass balls.

Those Christian extremists have money. Dont kid yourself into thinking they are tossed aside. beneath that family values platform and the public cry for a return to the ways of the founding fathers there is greed.

One of these days it won't be possible to toss them aside so playing with these guys is dangerous and a lot has been done that has hurt women(abortion) and the poor. Don't forget all of the trillions in spending cuts they are demanding in order to raise the debt ceiling. And don't forget all of the spending cuts they have already extracted in prior negotiations which has caused the economy to stall and may cause a double dip recession.

Then there's this unfortunate tendency to teach Bible studies in science classes rather than RE where it belongs in your public school system, and stem cell research being driven out of your country. neither of those seems to be doing your economy any favours, either.

It is impossible for cuts which have not taken effect yet to cause a recession that was well under way before the people demanding the cuts were even in office.
