hmmmmm, I would call it an adaptive trait.

At least you recognize its a disease. [:D]

A trait is not a disease... geesh, you are not very scientifically inclined are you?

There is alot of stuff he should read up on.

quote:

A population bottleneck (or genetic bottleneck) is an evolutionary event in which a significant percentage of a population or species is killed or otherwise prevented from reproducing.[1]
In population bottleneck, survival odds are purely random. The odds of survival for any member of the population is not influenced by inherited genetic advantages.[2]
A slightly different sort of genetic bottleneck can occur if a small group becomes reproductively separated from the main population. This is called a founder effect.
Population bottlenecks reduce the genetic variation and thereby also the population's ability to adapt to new selective pressures, such as climatic change or shift in available resources. Genetic drift can eliminate alleles that could have been positively selected on by the environment if they had not already drifted out of the population.[3]
Population bottlenecks increase genetic drift, as the rate of drift is inversely proportional to the population size. The reduction in a population's dispersal leads, over time, to increased genetic homogeneity. If severe, population bottlenecks can also markedly increase inbreeding due to the reduced pool of possible mates (see small population size).

Actually I would say the tea party of more due to a founder effect than a genetic mutation

wrong again. Diseases are a subset of traits.

So, left hand blue eyed blond is a disease?  Can you argue against universal single payer in the US based on what trotsky just said?   Get it in your sigline!!!!!

Adaptive trait
Definition

noun, plural: adaptive traits

A genetic trait that helps an organism to maximize its reproductive success.

Tell me, Einstein, how can a disease be an adaptive trait?

That isnt what you said. You said a trait is not a disease, no "adaptive" qualifier. I never accepted your premise that its an "adaptive trait".
But what is funnier is that you started this over a joke about liberalism being a disease in the first place :). If jilf manages to grow a sense of humor be sure to consult with him for advice on how to do it.

Once more for the unteachable.

An irrefutable expert states that:

"Palestine" (a place) is believed to be derived from the Philistines (a people).

Palestine (Gaza and west bank) check a map, there it is,  was inhabited by Philistines (a people) according to an irrefutable expert, who were anciently from the Aegean (now beside the point, but where were they from before that?)

They lived amongst the  caananites (jews)  for centuries.  They mixed in with the semitic peoples.

You would be a fool to argue that spanish people did not intermix with mexican indians (of the native american kind in their area) and you would be a fool to argue that the philistines (who settled in current parts of palestine) did not intermix with the semites.

Thats why obama has african heritage and white heritage, that is why mexicans have spanish heritage and indian heritage, that is why philistines (of palestine) have  semitic heritage.

You are wrong on both counts,

Philistines (and other area natives) =Palestinians = semitic.

It is soritical.

But really pathetic and sad  you lie and pretend you cannot comprehend a 3rd grader ability sentence, just because it is factual.

except it is not soritical.

That the arabs moved in later does not make them the older inhabitants. Nor does it make them = to them.

It is always proof that you know you are wrong when you pull out the thesaurus and missuse a word from it.

But you and the Anti-semites are free to pretend that the Palestinians = the Philistines, so the Jews have no right to live in the area named Palestine by the Europeon imperialists.

If Coservatism and Liberalism were genes, guess which is more likely to survive? If you agree we liberals mix better with other people, we'd probably be here far beyond the time, when your separatist fairly vertical bloodline died off. M

The problem with your theory is that if liberals begin to out survive conservatives they wont have enough wealth to redistribute to them, and they starve to death. Conservatives rule!

You're not making sense. The point is, we'll be alive, able to work, make money, and perhaps even mutate to moderate conservatism; as opposed to the insane, self limiting group that exists now. M

Just being devil's advocate.

Those who are heterzygous for the sicle cell trait/disease are immune to malaria. This is a heck of an adaptive advantage in equatorial Africa.

Of course, those who are homozygous for that trait tend to die young.

I actually considered it because having one gene for it means that sickle cell anemia isn't expressed (it is a recessive gene) but that immunity to malaria is enhanced...

I knew WBYD wasn't going to know that though[;)]

So, you are agreeing that mixing genes up (heterozygous thingie), is better that the vertical linish gene pool?! M
