I'm not a fan of Palin but this looks like part of a witch hunt. I reckon its related to an abuse of the system where loads of ethics complaints were lodged against her costing several million to the state, most I think have been resolved in her favor but were a reason she left her office early and didn't seek gubby re-election.

Actually she says in emails that the reason she is leaving is to make big cash.

http://www.theadvertiser.com/article/20110523/NEWS01/110523023/AP-EXCLUSIVE-Former-staff-member-pens-scathing-Sarah-Palin-tell-all-book

Could be true thought this guy could just be taking a negative slant on da whole thing. Palin said at the time she was leaving due to lame duck status but people on her side also said it was time to move on http://articles.cnn.com/2009-07-03/politics/palin_1_sarah-palin-randy-ruedrich-re-election-plans?_s=PM:POLITICS politically while not compromising the office of governor due to da energy required for November 2012 which would've happened if she stayed. Its odd that Frank Bailey is also one of those that sought access to her emails as he already wrote a book based on 1,000s of his own.

Im going to put it like this. These politicans are stupid. They put everything from cock shots to their dirty laundry into yahoo, twitter and FB accounts and actually expect them to remain private.

But, apparently, those e-mails are not private property if they have to do with political business. All these were requested under the Freedom of Information Act, if I read it correctly.

Dont want your dirty laundry out there later, then dont put it out there at all.

When the front runner takes a backseat to someone not even in the race, not exactly a good sign, her pizza with Sir Combover for example. You can believe that she is helping if you wish Wil, but she is soaking up a lot of TV that Romney would otherwise garner. I'd bet you that of all the Republicans in the race, she would support Romney the least.

Wow that's funny.. see I heard a deal was cut not to pursue indictments for criminal misconduct in exchange for early resignation. If you want to call that cleared, ummmm okay

Again, I dont see him taking a backseat. Its the MSM thats paying so much attention to her, not the sources for likely GOP primary voters. No doubt he would be her least favorite, but she will support him if he's the nominee, and she's got considerable star power to raise turnout, which will be her main function.

Wait....
Why would that be?
You`re assuming that there`s something damaging in them.
Why is that?

The opposition is probably assuming that there are at least artifacts that show she grossly misused her authority when she ordered that department head to use his authority over the state police to fire that trooper. OR WORSE.
The question as to whether email is protected or private communication has already been decided by the supreme court. An employer  MAY read and/or use information contained within those emails. Now, since the people of Alaska are really the only people who could be deemed "employers" of the former governor, and the current governor is imminently qualified to determine that it represents no threat to the people of the state or it's facilities and agencies. Then WHY NOT?
I don't see why anyone clearly outside the state has a voice in the issue. I admit curiosity, But I certainly don't have any desire to PLAY MAKE-BELIEVE and pretend there should be some kind of Clarence Darrow-esque case mounted to protect this communication. Especially following the DISINGENUOUS move attacking the right of the public to know here and standing down when it's a democrat's so-called privacy at stake. Hell, while I will certainly express how stupid I think the weiner case is, I will definitely not bite off some inane argument that we even care about the matter. But I sure as hell don't think that he enjoys much protected communication on something as fucked security-wise as Twitter or Facebook for that matter.
And I believe that a Governor's communications become part of the state archives and in most cases, you can at least view every document in a redacted format. I also know from RI's record keeping and court cases that occured during the RISDEC Crisis that the communications that went between Ed Diprete and his confederates were only redacted to protect matters effecting public safety and the security of the state itself. All his criminality evidenced in those emails was completely available for viewing. So what's the difference here?
Is it because when you're "just a soccer-mom who saw something wrong and decided to fix it", you enjoy some kind of endangered species. And I guess she's just got lawyers up there OPPOSING it for good clean fun.
I will say that if she has an email in there talking about pulling a chew and screw on the people of Alaska for the big bucks, it's going to make a nice arrow in the quiver who want to prove she is a complete and utter con-woman who is just playing a confidence game with Americans who are in earnest suffering from true feelings of disenfranchisement which is never mind scummy, it's obscene. And those standing around playing with their dicks saying "aw it's nothing" or "she's just doing what anyone else would do and going for the bucks", just aren't worth the bytes they type out.

Jerry is public domain ... case closed ...

But I seem to remember her former in-law, to wit a STATE TROOPER swearing out a criminal complaint for criminal misconduct in addition to presenting a letter of demand for civil damages. And the Commandant also  a STATE TROOPER made a statement at one point that the matter was being referred to the Attorney General. I mean , DUDE ... if you had a Cali State Cop pull you over for the obviously much more intoxicating and disorienting weed you smoke in comparison to my stash as evidenced by these delusions that you are a dead guitarist, I am sure you would characterize THAT as the cops being after you[:D]

Funny that she got the support of the Troopers in her VP run, aint it.

I'll dig out one of my longer haired pics. Ive been asked to pose with concert goers who want a picture with "Jerry" half a dozen times or so.

I dunno, Bush quit Governor of Texas to be POTUS. Lots of people quit for higher office and are highly regarded for it.

Quitting just to get out? Heard one was fired.

But of the 1200 or so who took their oaths for the first time, 3 quit.

Jim McGreevy, Eliot Spitzer and Sarah Palin

Thank you for confirming that Sarah Palin charges people to perform oral sex on them.

I've always suspected as such, but it's nice to have confirmation. It explains quite a bit about the way she "Took The Money And Ran" from her sacred, sworn duty as Governor. Like you've confirmed, she's just another cocksucking whore -- plain and simple.
