JstAnotherSub -> Memorial Day (5/28/2011 1:45:19 PM)

Thank you

It is more than a day off, it is more than the beginning of summer and a long weekend. Please take a moment to remember those who served and gave all, and each person who has served and still does.

As someone who served during peace time, I often wonder if I would have volunteered if there had been a war going on. I like to believe I would have, but one never knows.

To each of you who wore a uniform, I thank you!

Thank you

I think I posted this a few days too soon. Take a moment to remember today.....then party in celebration of those who gave all.

During Vietnam if you were 18 or over it was either join or be drafted until the "lottery" came along.
The first 100 birthdays chosen at random had a good chance at being drafted. The first one they chose was "Sept 14th".
I think everyone my age knows of someone who was killed during that war.
