The short of it is women often size each other up.  But that's a no-brainer - didn't need a study to show that.

As for rivals, no idea.  Kinda reminds me of high school football teams.

I guess I'm getting old because I usually notice another woman's personality and friendliness first. 
Whether or not she has fake boobs or a short skirt really doesn't matter to me.

Oh yeah, I also don't consider other women as "rivals" as the article said.  What's up with that?

Can someone PLEASE get me a copy of whatever book it is that tells me what I am 'supposed' to be doing as a woman?

Of course, now I am going to have to look for watches. However, I know pretty much nothing about brands. Casio and Seckio, I think.

My first thought when I saw the thread was "DUH!! Tell me something I don't know!"  The second was he posted what could turn into another fat thread.

I didn't bother reading the article because I have pretty much figured it out all by myself without the aid of some study.  Judging by the responses, I was right.  But I don't wear a watch at all...haven't for years, and I wouldn't be caught dead in a short skirt.....not sure what that means, but don't care much either!

What I would like to know is where these people get their money to do these stoopid studies.....I could use some bucks!  Maybe study what the first thing is men look at in a communal shower.......anyone care to guess?  [;)]  Besides, the research on that project would be fun!

All that this particular idea is illustrating is that most people are driven by insecurity. If you're saying "I don't do that" congratulations! You may be one of the few who has managed to overcome our societal obsession with "who has more and who looks less".

Sorry to disappoint you, pahunk, but the first thing I notice about another woman is her hair... then her face. I have even pointed out to the man that a woman is damn nice looking... something that still surprises him.

Honestly, the first thing I notice about anyone, male or female, is their voice.  It's an occupational thing, I'm sure.

As far as the physical, I dunno....nothing really pops at me.  If I notice anything, it's more in a "you look nice" way.....I'm more apt to notice someone's clothing choices.  As far as a woman being a rival....nah, not so much.

I tend to look at other women mostly at the gym, since people are there to get into better shape or stay in good shape. But, I look at the guys too, in the same way. There are a lot of people that need to do more work at the gym (both girls and guys) and most dont really work out very hard (which is why they havent hit their goals).
One thing I have noticed, at the gym I go to, the so called trainers can be fat & out of shape too, which sorta makes me wonder.... [8|]

When I see another guy I believe that I normally notice, in the following order: waistline, hairline, watch, tie, then shoes.

Alternately, if he's dressed casually, I notice waist, hair, pecs, arms, then shoes.
