So the legislature cant reverse a law that granted a "right" that didnt exist before that law? A "right" that the majority of states don't recognize? Anyone want to wager on the SCOTUS decision?

Hey chubs, do I have to remind you of all the times you have wagered and lost?

You are a very simple and slow human being.

Please don't make me go back and show you the results of your past wagers.

Is Holder still in office?

For that lost wager alone I think you still owe me 20k.

poor wilbur.

There is no purpose to form a union if the employer doesn't have to hire those workers.

There is a constitutional right to form a union, there is no constitutional right to force union employees on any employer or to force an employee to join one in order to work.

I for one feel that unions have to much power. They started off helping those being taken advantage of but became bloated and power hungry. High school teachers receive tenure after a few years. Once they get tenure it is almost impossible to fire them regardless if they sit in a class room and read the news paper all day ignoring the students. In new york there is a building where teachers that are awaiting for trials or other forms of evaluations wait. They are paid their full salary and benefits as long as they go to this building and stay there for seven hours five days a week. The city knows they are bad teachers, some are awaiting trial for sexual abuse even but they cannot be fired. They wait for their trials (several years) and are paid to watch tv read the newspaper and play cards for seven hours a day costing the city untold millions. My solution is to remove tenure for teachers, pay them six figure salaries as long as they are evaluated once a year. They are molding are next generation and they are underpaid and under appreciated. I say we raise the bar for them and we raise the rewards for them. It's time our education system stops just getting by.

You realize of course that if public unions are allowed to blackmail the taxpayers, then the only other choice will be to lay them off right???

So what you will see is exactly what happened to the automotive industry. 75% laid off, and 25% stealing the corporation blind with benefits and pension plans.

Yeah, that's right.  It was the unions stealing the corporations blind.

So those union members are now lining in mansions comparable to those corporate executives?

People like you amaze me.

You'll bend over and take whatever crumbs get thrown your way.

We do have a system that says... "innocent until proven guilty". How "fair" would it be to you if a teacher was falsely accused and didnt get pay while they waited to prove it?

Myself, I feel they should give back any pay they received if found guilty... but that wont ever happen.

I know what you mean.

Maybe we should start raising the bar by teaching the difference between to and too.
