Nettles, yeah, love them, well, they suck at everything else, tea,coffee, rope, gardening, all except perhaps beer, but that is for other interests, but they are wonderful at what they do with skin, and perhaps, maybe, why they were introduced into Britain by the Romans I heard for they were not native prior to them. I heard the Romans brought them in for what many now see as a sexual perversiom, as their action on the skin causes the blood to move faster and create warmth, wonderful in cold Britain of the past, but isn't it odd that their antidote always grows nearby, the dock leaf which all as kids knew about.
But yes, I like nettles, I like the feeling they create and the fact that they sensitise the skin, so everything can be felt that comes into contact, very much like hearing a pin drop a mile away. Now I have not used them in a BDSM scenario yet, but one can fantasise, but from others that I have heard use them, they report the very sensitising of the skin renders it super sensitive to slightest touch and the least offensive of hitting things that would normally make a doo'ee laugh like a gnat had collided into them, has the effect of creating the most evil of impact devices.
Memories from the past include swinging of a rope swing into a pond, but missing the pond and landing in a patch of nettles and I was only wearing swim shorts, but damn, my co ordiation never was that good, but I learned the beauty of these plants as I was stung all over, the memories recall heat, itching, red lumps and shivering, but wow, so sensitive, in a way good for me, because I find it hard for my skin to feel.
But in our day and age of allergies and other hyper sensitivities, have some antihistamine on hand, the oral variety as usual, but the gel form perhaps even better for local areas, or one can simply go green and quite literally with the furious rubbing of the dock leaf.
