Last night, the kids and I did some research and made donations. But if YOU'RE looking for a way to help. Here's two very direct avenues to get the help right to the folks who need it:
Salvation Army is up and runmning full blast:

But in case they aren't a way you like to infuse assistance, these folks are highly recommended:

or mail donations to:
Ozarks Food Harvest,
Attn: Joplin Disaster Relief,
PO Box 5746
Springfield, Mo., 65801-5746

Another reputable option:  Americares

No matter where you choose to share your donation, CharityNavigator is a great source to see gauge how an organization spends your $ on its programs:  http://www.charitynavigator.org/

Awesome ... yeah ... relief money is tricky everybody's got a preference ... keep em coming. Long as those folks get assistance. If you've never been through this, it's terrible, confusing and leaves you really empty afterward.
In 2000, @ 4am one morning, I had just about enough time to wake grab my 1 1/2 year old boy, the wife, and fly down the stairs and out before my house went completely away to an electrical fire. It leaves you completely numb. I have experienced nothing like it before or since.
I don't care if ya send these people movie tickets, anything that'll let these folks know life gets normal again is an IMMENSE help.
