Slave Register - 5/21/2011 4:26:44 AM

As of yesterday i became owned property of Lady Syn. My number is 273-797-178.
My question would be, does anybody ever actually look at the Slave Register, if yes, why? I would also like to get something, with engraving, for myself and Lady Syn (as surprise)to signify our positions. Any suggestions, due to circumstances mine would have to be a little discrete ie. not dog tags round kneck.

Many thanks

Nope! Ergo the second part of the question is inconsequential. :)

Seriously, if it holds meaning for you and your owner, that's all that matters. Who give a flying f*** what anyone else thinks.

Women I know who are owned (but not being overt about it in public) typically use some form of neck jewelry to symbolize a collar. Perhaps a men's style bracelet or a watch, with an engraving on the hidden side would work for you. Your lady could have the feminine version. That's my suggestion.

Congrats on your new position in life.

i got a tatoo with my masters mark intwined into a picture so we know its there but others would not recognise it. you could get a design with the numbers worked in thats if she allows tatoos of course. if not a bracelt or ring with the number on teh underside.

I neither look at nor make use of The Slave Register or any other such directories. You can be sure that I'll be the first to purchase the mug as soon as I do, and proudly wear all the necessary geometric primitives representing my own insular sexual dialect with proud, collective patriotism.

Sarcasm aside, I think the bar code idea is neat, but it doesn't mean anything to me unless it's from my own system. Until then, slaves are better left off any grid as much as possible, and any number or mark they are given remains forged by my own hand and mind; to me, it's more direct and meaningful to my controlling, iconoclast heart.

I have never looked at the slave register.  I have no need to see who may or may not be on the register.  If being registered is meaningful for you and your owner then it doesn't matter who may or may not see it.  It has personal private meaning to you both.

Thank you, i guess that most do not, even if they know about it.

It does mean something to me and my owner. I want to acknowledge that with something physical for us both that people in the 'know' will recognise.

The only use I ever made of the Slave Register was to read the boards there, but I haven't been back in a long, long time.

If you're wanting something that 'people in the know' will recognize, how about a triskelion ring or bracelet? To most people's eyes, it will simply be a fairly simple geometric sort of design, and you shouldn't have to field too many questions about it. I'd lay odds that well over 70% of the vanillas that see it would simply assume it's some variant on a celtic knot and not think twice about it. And a man wearing a ring or bracelet isn't comment worthy, so long as it isn't some huge rhinestone uber sparkly monstrosity.

You could get a matched set, with hers being somewhat daintier, or not, as her tastes dictate. On hers, have engraved 'owner of #' and yours have '#, owned by her name'. If it's rings, have the engraving done in the inside of the band, if a bracelet do it on the back of the section having the symbol. It's possible you can even order them with the engraving.

one of the jewelers that advertises there makes really cool personalized barcode necklaces. I have one, I get compliments all the time from 'nilla folk. it's just a nice necklace.

The "slave register" seems a silly idea.

But a Facebook app which allows "slave of" as a relationship type.  Hmm.

Most people in BDSM know what this is and often it refers to safe sane and consensual.

Good luck with that. Having glanced at your profile you have a lot to say about what you want which doesn't mean a damned thing to the Dommes. Guys looking to get laid are a dime a dozen around here ... you don't stand out from the rest one bit.

I think the slave register would probably work a little better if it didn't just generate a random number.  Something like the VIN number out of a car, where you could identify where and when someone was born, and perhaps even some other defining characteristics would be much better.

Why would anyone actually look at the Slave Register?  It is no different than the various "Who's Who" registries that exist, or that star registry thing that allows you to name a star after somebody.  The registry organization holds no official status, and is recognized by no one.  Their registry is meaningless, and is merely a way of separating people from their money.  But if it makes you feel better about yourself, go for it.

I've started a new registry.  It's called the BDSM Property Registry.  By registering with my registry, you will be "officially" recognized as the property of your Mistress.  The cost for registering is only $50.  And I guarantee you that my registry will get just as many viewers as "The Slave Register" does.

BTW, prior to joining the Slave Register, how many times had YOU looked at it?  Probably none.  Just like the rest of us.

Pop quiz:  Name one person who has a star named after them.  (See how silly it is?)

No, I don't.  I figure if someone is registered to it, they have an Owner.  What would be the point?

Nope, never looked at the SR, although aware of its existence.

I guess it rather depends on the way your Owner/Slave dynamic works. If you really do, sincerely, regard yourself as her property then there's an argument that you should just shut the fuck up and do as you're told. If your dynamic allows it.. then a discrete tattoo might do it (Subject to the usual advice that runs along the lines of "Sure, I know you think this time it's forever and all that but....")

LOL - great idea until you meet someone that follows a druidic path. That symbol is one of the most ancient symbols known to man and represents the trinity in everything: Earth, Man, Otherworld/  Heart, Mind, Soul/  Mother, Maiden, Crone/  Father, Son, Holy spirit/  Birth, Life, Death/   etc.

I think specific variations of that symbol may represent safe, sane and consensual but the symbol as a whole? I'm not to sure.
Either way, I'd be careful what conversations you start with someone wearing that symbol. lol!

As far as the Slave Registry - it's a cute idea but I don't think anyone actually checks. And even if they do - if and when a slave changes owners, doesn't the new owner typically give them a name of their own choosing? So, a slave named one thing on the Registry could very well be renamed and registered again. Kinda pointless. But, as has been said before - as long as it means something to you - that's all that matters.
