Do you love'm, do you hate'm....and just to clarify, I am not talking about a sub or slave crawling on the floor [8|] I am talking about insects [:)]

We used to have a honeysuckle plant when I was a kid, and it would attract dragonflies like crazy in the summer. They were incredibly beautiful.

I hate them bloody millipedes /centipedes
not a big fan of spiders bigger than a dime
earwigs are just plain nassy
Nah Im not a insect lover, altho I do like those caterpillars that throw their own poop

I enjoy ending their meaningless existence. 

You know what is very creepy, though?  When you walk down a sidewalk and see this hive/cluster of red ants all grouped up.

Most bugs are fine by me, they have a good role in this world.
There are exceptions.

Wasps. These evil beings have all the testosterone of a rugby team condensed into something the size of your thumb, with a poison injecter in its ass, and it won't die no matter how many times it stings you.

Fire Ants.

Misquitos.

Ours were mostly blue ones, like I think the one in the top picture is - it's hard to tell on camera, because they are *really* iridescent, so you just get this glow instead of the true colour...

Yep, the top one is blue. Getting pics in focus is hard enough, but catching that iridescent color is almost impossible.
The orange ones are a bit more showy. [:D]

Not a lover or a hater.  I'll go with interesting story.

It seems at least one creature wanted to move with us from California.  When our household goods arrived day before yesterday, we found that a black widow had made the trip with our furniture.  It was disposed of, as they are not indigenous to the area.

Beautiful photos Wyld, thank you for sharing.

Since moving to my current abobe I have come to have a strong hate for mosquitoes and gnats. Bees I love and have a hive so they can stay nearby. Last year a crew of bees decided to move into a hole in one of the big old oaks. Lots of lovely bees to pollenate my flowers and fruits.

Just for the record though........ALL bugs belong outside. It's an unwritten law here at the farm. Break that law and come inside.......dead bug.

Love - Dragonflies, darning needles, fireflies, and lady bugs.

Hate - Palmettos, (Effin' flying cockroaches on steroids....) spiders, and red ants.

And right now Florida is being invaded by the annual "love bugs". Yes, folks, the flying fuckers...(literally)

I like maggots(used to work in a bait shop) glowbugs/worms/firelies etc, June bugs piss me off after about the 30th, flutterbyes n moths are fine, ladybugs, stick insects, mantise'ses are all ok, dragon flies are gorgeous.

Honeybees are cool, but yellowjackets are kill on sight for me. I still have a scar on my arm from one that decided to crawl up my sleeve and sting the crap out of me for no reason at all. Nasty things.

Mosquitoes, flies, gnats, and ants are also on the KOS list.

I remember going into a butterfly house on a school trip somewhere when I was a kid - it was amazing. I still dream about it sometimes. Thousands of the things.
