Well, I used to have a collectibles and antique store. I considered myself "expert" at flea markets. I frequented them to pick up merchandise, often from vendors who had little idea of what they had... There is an art to getting a deal at flea markets... you have to know what you are after, you have to go at the right time, you have to leave at the right time, you have to be willing to dicker, you have to be willing to walk away from a deal if it isn't going to generate a certain margin of profit for your business... etc etc etc... and yes, this does take a level of "expertise" I also went to real world auctions and yard sales... etc etc etc...

If someone wants to list themselves an "expert" on the other side then it's their business. Now if I see someone who's checked everything off and is an expert in everything, that's when I laugh and move on. Especially if they say they're a noob with no experience and are all of 18. No insult to 18 yr olds who are experts in some fields.
