on the order of the witchunt to trade government by the people for corporate malfeasance and country destruction as is touted by the neo-cons, or more or less than that?

juliaoceania -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 1:28:08 PM)

You have no idea what you are talking about. My mom is currently looking to buy a house, and several lenders have pre-approved her. She is on a fixed income, not rich by any means, and yet she is having no trouble getting a loan. Stop while you are ahead, you obviously did not know what redlining was because you have not once addressed the ACTUAL article that was posted. Instead you are making these idiotic assumptions based upon it...

So, for those who are paying attention, this article has NOTHING to do with lending to people who cannot afford it. It is about denying loans to qualified buyers based upon the fact they want a loan for a low income, high minority area.... GEESH, it isn't that hard to understand the difference!

Moonhead -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 1:33:02 PM)

I suspect that for people like Wilbur, they just can't afford to understand that there's a difference at work there.

Whats her credit rating?

Her credit rating is over 700...

Moonhead -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 1:52:10 PM)

A new mortgage will soon fix that...

Exactly. And what is the default rate on mortgages > 700?

Your anecdotal evidence doesnt mean shit.

So you think that there should be no investigation of banks refusing to lend to qualified buyers with adequate credit based upon wanting to buy in a certain area? In essence you do not think that the Obama Admin should investigate where there could actually be CRIMES taking place? It is illegal to redline, if banks are redlining they are breaking the law. If there are accusations of redlining they need to be investigated. If it is found that banks are redlining they need to knock it off.

What you seem to be saying is that the Obama Admin should ignore crimes being committed by banks.... why the fuck should they do this?

You no longer even anecdote, not that you would have credibility with even a widely held credible citation, but thats on you.

So, why don't you ancedotally tell us the default rate on mortgages > 700.

Remember, you schooled everyone on the laffer curve and got a laugh, since it is nothing but solid anecdote (and absolutely devoid of evidence).

But thats how you roll.

Moonhead -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 1:57:59 PM)

Because Wilbur likes banks.

juliaoceania -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 2:03:43 PM)

The point to me is that he makes these idiotic statements about some sort of agenda the Obama Admin has in investigating redlining crimes as if this is some sort of pressure to lend to unqualified (black?) buyers. As if just because you want to buy a house in a low income area this makes you an unqualified buyer...

This is so laughable. When I was with Sinergy and we were looking at homes for sale in the Port of Los Angeles, we went through Wilmington to see what was there because the property values were less expensive. You would be shocked at the amount of boats, muscle cars, and RVs people had in this city. It seems that even though it was historically a ghetto area, all that longshoreman money was on display with tons of bling... it is not bright to suppose just because people want to buy in a certain area that they have no income or credit. In fact people often go home to buy in the area they grew up, even if that area seems to suck to the rest of us, and even though they could afford more.

Well, perhaps he has been enjoying the major anal fucking we all received at the hands of those greedy thieving bastards.... personally, I like lube and romance before I get it in the ass, but you know, not everyone rolls that way

She kept her credit rating high so she could qualify for a house.... I am very happy for her, she really deserves it. I do not know a person that has worked harder, gave as much, and didn't expect anything in return for their efforts. My mother is a saint in my eyes, and she is my best friend.

I can't wait to help her get her new home just the way she wants it!

Oh please don't get me wrong: that was a joke not a diss.

juliaoceania -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 2:23:37 PM)

I know it was a joke.....

I have spent the last 2 months helping her find a house. It has been quite a process, and an education

Moonhead -> RE: Obama Admin Pushing Banks To Offer Subprime Mortgages (5/13/2011 2:26:12 PM)

I can imagine.

The end result (and quite likely the intent) of these investigations is to put pressure on lenders to lower standards, just a backdoor way to subprime.

Prove it.
