Gators eat small animals.  It's what they DO for a living.  If you don't want fluffy or Rover to be gator chow, keep it in the damn house.

(as an unplanned bonus, its chances of being hit by a car go down dramatically too)

In Florida, the general rule of pets vs. alligators is alligators will win every damn time.

Of course, add the python that is taking over the Glades and the pets end in the negative.

damn PA...what is it with you and the cat eating things lately?  Like we WANT to hear about them getting killed?  Considering the amount of animal lovers here, you're not making any friends.

I didn't click on either of your articles.....you can always find someplace else to post this crap yanno.  The hide feature is a great thing.......unfortunately, it doesn't hide the titles.

Besides, this ain't news....Like Hilly said, if people don't want to lose their pets, they keep them inside.  Gators are opportunistic feeders and take every chance to feed they can.  Like all the other wildlife we humans are encroaching upon, they make do with what they have.  In AZ, coyotes are the threat to small dogs and cats......as it goes all over the country...and the world.

Last week, I was watching a show on Animal Planet called Killer Aliens.  It was about 5 species of animals not from North America.  The Burmese Python, nutria, gila monitior, Gamian pouch Rat, and feral hogs.

Well...the hogs has been invading since Cortez was 'paying respect' to the Aztec.  The pig slave took the day off.  Everything else are the refuse of the human who decides that their pets are too hard to keep up with them.

If anyone who hunts for feral hog, I have a herd of them trashing my fence line.  Get over 1 hog and you can send one to the meat processor...
