Yeah. When you think about it, what it is and also what it symbolizes isn't what you could call a good thing. Or a 'mature' thing. The use fireworks are usually put to is the glorification of national violence and the relegation of the individual to the role of spectator. Throw in some inappropriate music, like 'Hooray for the red, white and blue' by John Phillips Sousa, and the jingoistic frenzy is complete. Sooo... pbm... do you know who the enemy is? How could that possibly be?!? If you don't know who he is, you can't very well say he is an enemy, now can you? Is asking who the enemy is, unpatriotic? Is failing to answer unpatriotic? Is patriotism patriotic? How much is too much? Hello Mr. NSA snitch.
