The Largest Chessboard that I've ever beheld was one that was pieced together with large ceramic tiles meant to hold human players at a local Renaissance Faire.
Sooo, pbm, would you rather walk through a rose garden with every hue of rose, that wondrous aroma, bees and beautiful butterflies flitting about..or would you rather wander through a richly green rainforest, with occasional mistified rainshowers, the constant buzz, humm, shriek and croak of the multitude of native species and an occasional sighting of the small bands of native indians wandering around and doing their daily tasks. (This is the Amazonian Rain forest of which I speak). So, pbm, would you rather walk thru the rose garden or take a trek through the rain forest?
