testing...
damn damn damn.

i click "reply" and my curser turns into a red exclaimation point and makes a clicky noise at me.
So i 'right-click' and click on "open"

The reply window opens.
i click on 'embed picture', then i click on 'upload photo' and get the damn ! -curser and clicky noise.

So, i 'right-click' again and click 'open' in expectation that the window will open and allow me to upload my photo, but no. The window will not open.

WTF !?!

happy holidays to all (even if I'm a little late for solstice, and a lot late for hanukka). May the best baking win for the season.

Oh, and Pheonix, nice to see you back on the boards, even under a new name. Hope to get to know you better over time.

Fluffy, have you done the tests yet? Is everything clear and okay? I hope so.

Yes, some of the tests are over. Some more blood work and a CT are scheduled this week. Problems were detected and reasons for some of them noted. i now have 3 new meds.

One is working almost immediately. The doctor gave me samples for 2 weeks. That prescription is about $700 a month co-pay. i need to check with the insurance to find out why it is so high. i don't think i am in the "donut hole" yet.

The other two are too early to tell. i'm not excited about either one, because of the side effects. The info says that your doctor has determined that the benefits outweigh the risks. They are immunosuppressive meds. Apparently Crohns is an autoimmune disease.

Yes. Yes it is.

When Chaos was on his last 'year long business trip' my Sis' and Big Brother came to stay with me. i really needed the help since i can't drive. Sis has Crohns and limited income by which to achieve much medical assistance. She could go to a low income clinic to help, but little more. Being a student, she didn't have enough money for the meds she really needed to treat it. i learned quite a bit about the disease. In turn, i'm sure she and Big Brother are now way more aware of what it's like to live with someone with Endo'. She and i would both scoff at the term "invisible disease" as both our conditions were so categorized. There are days i really miss having someone to sit'n'knit with me.

You can Cmail me if there's any way i could help with the knowledge of having lived with someone with the disease.

Fluffy, that sucks! I'm glad that at least one of the meds are helping. But it's just awful to think that you have to go through that around this time of year. Not that going through it any other time would be better. I hope you can convince your insurance to cover more of the meds. I don't know how it works in the US, but up here, some insurance plans have a loop hole for drugs that are deemed necessary but aren't on the fully covered list. You have to convince them that they are needed, and they will make allowances. Here's hoping that you can do the same. It's nice of you doctor to give you the samples to start you off though.

I hope the rest of the tests are better news. It sounds like you could really use it. I wish there was more I could do to help.

*sends prayers to Fluffy*

<<< confused fae.

There were a couple games i played where twice i posted in the PBM style games, but the people posting after me posted as if they didn't see my post. They replied to the person that posted before me.

my laptop seems fine in all other matters, but i'm having a lot of trouble on this site. Do me a favour and someone tell me you're seeing this post ? i'm starting to get a little paranoid.

It turns out that i am in the "donut hole". My prescription insurance is tied to (US) Medicare. After i have a certain amount of out of pocket expense, the insurance doesn't cover that same. It becomes a percentage of the list price instead of a flat co-pay. If i wait until Jan 1 to fill the prescription the calculation starts over again. The co-pay will be $42 a month instead of $700 a month.

The samples that the Doc gave me will almost last until Jan 1. YAY!

You know the wad of xmas-lights that everyone has in their garage or storage-zone? Well, ours' was in a plastic tote that should have gone in to long-term storage in the States, but for some reason ended up here.

While i was sleeping, Chaos detangled them, fixed all the burned out lights, and hung them throughout the flat. And he did the dishes. Xmas Win.

No, it's been getting warmer during the daytime. There's still some snow left that hasn't melted.
Did you get fresh snow?

We're going to make soup together for tonight and enjoy a bowl of comfort food and watch Sci Fi' shows online.
Similar plans, fluffy?

i've got the early shift on the soup, making the ham stock and i might be dragging my heels about going to sort out the bone, skin, and other such.
Abney Park is playing and it's so easy to lose track of the time when you're watching the strange corvid type birds play as the sun climbs up the mountains... http://www.avianweb.com/daurianjackdaws.html
Yes, i'm basking in my own perception of romance in this neonomadic life we lead. That's me.

Fae, sometimes they are replying to the same post at the same time, and just hit ok faster than you. It's not you. We still see you.

Lights are nice. Surprises are even better. And he did the dishes? Wow. That deserves a win. Can I nominate Chaos for the win?

So Fae, I clicked on the link in your last post. Why is there an add for fresh step cat litter at the bottom of a page on the background of daurian jackdaws? That seems slightly sadistic to me.

I finally got my baking done today, delivered it to my neighbor and housemates for their respective dinners (I'm at my parents for dinners), and still have some left to bring to work this week. All in all, a long but fulfilling day.

Merry Christmas everyone.
