DomImus -> Need help with song identification (5/5/2011 4:29:51 PM)

I am trying to track down a song I only heard one time on the radio shortly after 9/11. I would say that the genre would be country. I don't remember much about the song having only heard it once on the radio but my recollection is that the subject (singer) is singing from the point of view of someone in one of the towers of the WTC or perhaps he's a passenger on Flight 93. As I recall, the lyrical content of the song may be representative of a voice mail message he is leaving for his family.

Any help identifying this tune would be much appreciated.

have you tried to do a google search of the lyrics you may remember...because google relies on key words it may be a better fit

Female or male singer?

This?

i'm going with the idea that it's not "The Angry American" by Toby Keith, as that's been so well publicized.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance. I don't remember enough about the lyric to search on it - it was a male singer.

This may be it - Dusty Drake "One Last Time". This is a cover version of this song I found on You Tube but the young man does a very nice rendition of it. I'm not even entirely sure that this is the song I heard that day - I still seem to recall a voice mail message as a part of the song and this is a live conversation in real time - but I like it.

Thanks, again.
