Jeff, I didn't vote in your poll. I think many of the American people would like to see the photos released. I know for some folks, it would provide a sense of closure. At the same time, releasing such photos could be the spark that ignites retaliation. Not that the news itself probably won't do the same thing. Still, releasing the pictures is just going to reinforce the martyr symbolism.

Not voting here, i can kinda see both sides of this.
If the photos were released, i wouldn't want to see them.
i've seen too much already.
If it would help other people to see the photos, that's what works for them.

I had no idea, which shows you how closely I've been following the story. Middle Eastern politics of all kinds make my head hurt.

I think they should show at least 1 or 2 photos of him just to prove to the world he is gone.They did this with Saddam Hussien after he died.That was just to show to the Iraqi and the world that yeap,Saddam is gone.We need to see the same thing with Osama bin Laden there.

Personally I voted NO, as in general IMO way too often way too many details are being told about crimes which took place. Now, in this case it is not a crime, but nevertheless I feel it should be shown as little as absolutely necessary in the press, thats just my view in general. However, I also can see that it might comfort folks who might need the reassurance that he truly is gone, so overall I agree to FelineFae's view, but my personal view would be a NO...and personally I am not bothered about it if they are shown or not as I don't need such pictures.
