Obama now has a much bigger military/political victory than his predecessor. Afghanistan, Iraq, the hanging of Saddam and other "Mission Accomplished" events don't come close.

Bin Laden is dead. Obama lying about US forces having had a corpse would be political suicide and there would probably be videos of the decedent dancing around with a recent copy of the NYT by now.

The details sound iffy and the timing is perfect but they probably could have killed him at will any time for a few months.

Obama could choose to declare victory in Afghanistan and Iraq and bring the troops home.

If Obama invested the money in a genuine economic recovery at home he could save his Presidency and have a shot at greatness.

Obama has the political cover now to do the right thing for the country. Killing Bin Laden provides an opportunity for change in a good direction. We'll see if Obama chooses to stop feeding the war machine and plows the money into the economy.

Murder was 3000+ innocent people being killed while they were going about their daily lives.

I agree with cutting down on military spending. The best strategy of war is secrecy, not money. I think cutting military spending and investing that money in single-payer health care, solar and wind power is a good idea. I think our leaders need to create and vote on more bills to discourage outsourcing and I think any politician who votes no should have their names and the fact they voted no advertised on TV several times a day. That would keep them from accepting bribes because if they did they would be guaranteed to lose in the next election.

Voting records for congress ARE of public record.

And C-SPAN is on 24/7 already.

Any congressmen found by the ethics committee of accepting bribes (a felony) would be expelled from the House or Senate. They would then go to trial. The next election would not be an issue.

C-SPAN doesn't have as large a viewing audience as some other channels. If they did politicians would have no need to run ads around election time.

So you're saying politicians don't vote the way their campaign funders want them to vote? You have a pattern of singling me out. I've seen plenty of posters comment about the buying of votes and I don't see you rolling your eyes at them.

Isn't the unlawful taking of another peerson's life? I realize that the constitution authorizes the president to kill anyone he chooses...if that is the legal justification for this then that is what it is...my question to sanity and now to you is how do you feel about that?
