What you seem to be requesting is government to act like a strong arm robber and steal peoples wealth, as a thief in the night might. Its odd that we would have laws against the public at large stealing yet encourage our own government to steal.

Really - why is it moral if government does it, at the behest of a "democratic" mob

What is moral is for people to care about their country and countrymen and ask not what your country can do for you but rather what you can do for your country.

Add in that most of these aholes either push themselves off as Christians or Jews...wanting to make us think that they have a moral soul. Think not.

Does your JFK "ask not what your country can do for you but rather what you can do for your country" quote not apply to who could work but choose not to?

Is there a segue in there that everyone (and I do mean everyone) has missed?

Well not answering is one way of proving that you are wrong.

Are you saying then that people on Social Security and Medicare are people that choose not to work?

Do you think that 9 million people who lost their jobs from 2008 to 2010 just woke up one day and proclaimed in unison "Fuck it, I don't want to work anymore"?

What makes you think that all these new entries to the public dole choose to be there?

And don't forget all those who after making regular payments on the mortgage for ten or more years just woke up one day and said "fukitt, ain't gonna pay it no more, screw the family."

Not because of job loss or anything. It's all a political decision, you know.

The government pays people to not work every day. Ever heard of unemployment? Social Security "crazy checks"? Food stamps?

Democrats create dependence on government through handouts and thereby destroy the very fabric of society. Its like allowing your grown children to leech off of you into their old age or feeding the bears at Yellowstone, youre not doing anyone any favors when you do that, and the government isnt just broke, its beyond that.

Meaningless, but really cool sounding.

Yeah, that;s what I did.I got up one morning at 5 a.m.to head off to my week-day job(I also,at the time, worked my friends restaurant on weekend nights)somewhere during the drive that day....a plan formed in my mind...I would start my day....have an accident...which would lead to seven surgical procedures(Major surgeries to boot)have a titanium disc placed in my spine...have another disc still compressed but not quite operable(yet,,,,sooner or later it too must go)left shoulder rebuilt(the right one is currently causing me great distress) begin a cycle of spinal block epidurals that I must have every 3 months....sign up for a lifetime supply of vicodin.
The plan worked to perfection I haven't worked a day since March 31st 2005.Just goes to show you that one can accomplish just about anything if they put there mind to it.
The whole thing nearly fell apart before it even bore fruit....see it is my Neurosurgeons opinion that had the Insurance company that was running my "health panel" heeded my doctors prognosis....or even there own doctors prognosis and approved my spinal surgery when first advised to....in other words prior to me losing partial use of my left leg(nerves that are pinched will,if left to their own devices wither and die....once this happens they do not regenerate)or if after the surgery they had not ,as capitalists are wont to do,cut off my physical therapy prior to fusion...my recovery might have been much greater.
Thank god we don't have messy gov't interference in medical matters.

~ Rolls Mike in his wheelchair off the 2,000 foot cliff ...  ~

Hey, sorry bud, fiscal responsibility and all that, you know.

~ We all look down, some of us see a bloke in a wheelchair, others see a pink Cadillac-drivin' welfare mama ... ~

Happy now, everybody?

Goldman Sachs and Exon Mobil's stock price, what they doin' now? Anybody know?

Oh! it's down 20 cents today? That's OK, I guess, but I better see it back up tomorrow. But I can take the hit for today I suppose.

We all have to make sacrifices here.

PS

~ Watches Mike bounce into the large net placed at 500 feet ...   ~

You know I wouldn't do that to you, and please accept my sincere condolences on your real plight, and my apologies for dragging you into this theatre, dear sir.

Just a silly play on my part, to make a point.

I feel for your real plight in every way, sir.

No need to apologize, none at all...I understood your point....the last post was just me being irreverent. It was all just the cost of doing business. But it is a bit amusing...you get run over by the capitalist profit driven health industry and than you must endure the subtle and not subtle suggestions that you are just another scammer sucking at the public teat,

Alright sanity, I hope you never have to depend on something like social security because god forbid you fucked up your back or something in twenty years of hard work.

I hope you never have to deal with a relative that has some mental problem that does not allow them to hold a full time job.

Actually, fuck it, I hope you have a no fault accident that lands you in a fucking wheelchair, then you can complain about all those disabled people demanding hand outs because the company they worked for did not carry long term disability insurance.

What I wrote was, those who can work but choose not to, but go ahead and build your strawman because I appreciate the demonstration, jlf.

Ive been posting about how a hell of a lot of leftists think exactly like you do, and youre a great example. You dont just disagree with the policies or the religious views of others who dont think like you but you resent the very existence of those with whom you disagree.

You wish me ill, you wish misfortune on a relative of mine... an innocent bystander, so you may have some twisted revenge on me for my holding the political views that I do.

There is nothing many leftists wouldnt stoop to in regard to their political opponents, and thats the point Ive been making, and you have done much here to help me make that point.

All that running around and answering other people is fine sanity. However, you still didn't tell me why the Rich cannot be moral enough to simply ask what they can do for their country rather than ask what the country and do for them. It is a simple and often used statement. But it holds the essence of how we got where we are today.

Or in other words.Would the rich have clamored so hard to drive manufacturing out of this country and to cobble together great schemes of making themselves further rich in the financial markets if they were actually asking what it was they could do to make the country better? I think not. I think they would have known that the answer would have been responsibility to the country and people that helped them gain and protect what they have.

It is an often used statement. I believe it was JFK who first said it. Now last time I checked his family had quite a bit of cash laying around, so if you don't consider him rich, just how much do you have to earn to get that title?

To both DYB and boi;

I bring you:

http://faireconomy.org/responsible_wealth

Responsible Wealth (RW) is a network of over 700 business leaders and wealthy individuals in the top five percent of income and/or wealth in the U.S. As beneficiaries of economic policies tilted in their favor, these individuals advocate for fair taxes and corporate accountability. Their message is simple, and surprising to some: we can afford to pay more; we don’t need any more tax breaks.

What is your point? Think that family might have paid the price for the dollars they have. Paid the country as well. Don't think you've ever heard them argue about raising taxes on the wealthy. Name one time when they weren't trying to lead the change in this country. If we have every wealthy family doing and serving the same way.....this is a very different country.
