Dude, I've been on a plane where the landing gear failed to emerge when we were in the air.
The pilot had to call down, get the runway set up, circle forever (It felt like it at the time) then do a belly landing onto a tarmac full of firetrucks and emergency vehicles while the passengers were fervently praying to whatever they believed in from the crash position.
One of the least fun experiences of my life.
It was awful. People couldn't use their legs when they tried to stand. Others had peed their pants.
The only kewl thing about the entire episode was taking the inflatable slide to the ground.

And people wonder why I get freaked out flying...

James Gregory (comedian) claims he flies only once a year so he can catch up on his drinking and praying.

I loved flying, before continental held me in an airplane, for nearly 4 hours, 10 minutes away from my home, causing me to basically lose a whole day in a 3 day weekend plan. Why not let people who want to get out, get out, if you're not moving at all?! M

FR..

The shit only hits the fan if the holding tanks are in front of the nacelles.

I've had a few aborted landings, one "oops, turning back right now!", and one in-flight emergency (possible overheated tires after takeoff).  I'd drink some booze except I usually need to drive when I get to my destination.  'Tis a bit unnatural, flying in a soda can!
