Marini -> Read this/Go here P & R threads with title/link/copy and paste OP, no summary needed (4/19/2011 10:55:14 PM)

Why do so many people around here, start threads and throw a link up {without bothering to at least summarize it in their own words}, and expect you to read the link, and and start a conversation? I am on the internet, I can read articles and links until the end of time. I LOOK for the threads in which you give me a summary or at least a brief synopsis of the link. I know this is a shocker, I don't come here to read a list of titles and endless links and copy and pastes from the links, on threads in which you can't even be bothered to summarize the information. I know this is going to startle many of you, but I tend to want to read the threads in which you not only summarize the links {if you have them}, but I look for.........an opinion! your opinion! When I open a thread that INSTRUCTS me to click on a link, I usually close the thread, or just read the replies, to get a clue what the link is about. Which explains, why I don't post on that many threads, lol. I love to give links, that go along with whatever I am chatting or ranting about. It is very, very, very, rare for me to throw up a link, without either summarizing the link or at least telling you what the link is about. My question is, why do some of you people do this? Do you find the article or topic interesting, and you are unable or unwilling to take 5-10 minutes to summarize the material, and its easier to say: Read this! Does it take that long for you to.....gasp... actually take the TIME to summarize the article and post a link? I see a title on Politics and Religion, I say humm this sounds interesting, I open the OP and all I see is either a link or a 20 page copy and paste article. I usually just read the comments below the OP to get an idea what the OP is about, without clicking on the link. Why don't we create a board, where people can only post links? We can call it the: Link only, copy and paste, look here and read this board. As always to each their own, I just want someone to explain the phenoma and interest in starting posts, giving no summary or detailed opinions and than saying: Read this---> Thanks in advance, Peace
