Extremely Deep Fractal Zoom

This is really cool and very mesmerizing. The attention to detail in this is absolutely amazing.

WARNING: If you are potentially subject to having acid trip flashbacks (especially if your name is Termy) you should avoid watching this video.

ENJOY!!!

Very cool. Reminded me of not so much acid trips, but maybe dropping some "E" back in the day. [;)]. Would have been cool to sit in a room like that and just roll for a few hours. Oh being grown up..sucks.

"(especially if your name is Termy)"

Well I'l have you know that I won't be watching your cool little vid until the "dude" makes his delivery.

I will be available for comment at that time.

ETA : that's what happens when you give a geek too much RAM.

OK... 13 minute long zoom...  I am completely brainwashed now.

Impressive. Could do without the techno. And not acid. DMT.

Reminds me of a film I saw about "space-filling curves" as a member of the Math Club at Uni. An infinite curve bounded by a square.

Math is fascinating. Pity so few Amis can't even make change. They could never grasp this.

I used to write a little bit of Qbasic. These things are generally a nearly endless loop in a program. One formula repeated over and over and represented graphically. I never got into the graphics aspect of programming, but I can grasp the concept of what goes on here.

Seems to me this is just another form of art. Instead of brushes and a canvas, a keyboard is the medium.

My teenager watched this with me. She appreciated the art aspects of it, thought it was pretty cool [:)]

As for me...I have a headache now [:o]

See ? If you did drugs that wouldn't happen. :-)

If I did drugs, I would not need to look at a video to go trippin [8D]

Well in the good old days we didn't even need an antenna on the TV. Watching the snow on the screen was enough. It could be anything you want it to be.

I think I saw this in the sky at a Dead show once.

this is really cool. i don't know enough of the math behind the Mandelbrot set to get into it, but from a purely aesthetic perspective, it's one of my favorites (thanks to my brother who was the one of the two of us who reeeeeeally got into math).

here's a wiki article about Mandelbrot, for anyone inclined to read it.
i like "seahorse valley" ^_^
