I would enjoy the physical aspect of the scenes, but not the banging into walls. But the verbal barage would have to be a limit. I don't enjoy being told i'm worthless, and the only time i like being called a slut is if it is done with some care and enjoyment.

I lived for far too long in a marraige where tearing down was the thing, not building up, and am consequently , very sensitive to it. The only way i could tolerate it is if i KNEW that he didn't mean it - and i would have to be very secure in his regard before i would be to that point.

If I am Joe, I have already discussed with suzy the level of degradation she might like. I am not really comfortable with full out humiliation. I tend to couple it with praise. is that option 3 or 4?

Yep. One is too asshole-ish and the other....no thanks. Somewhere in the middle with less wall banging and more focus and calling me "his slut" would probably get it done.

See I'm more of a 2 and 4, wall and all. Personally a well placed push into a wall is something I really like to give and receive. Some of my favorite impact toys are walls and floors.

For me scenario 1/3 (since I switch ;) ) the praise would need to be stated sarcastically to turn it into a humiliation/degradation scenario. All out praise does not work for me at all, is actually a bit triggering at times.
