Kirata Do I have to post the entire fucking article, and every other press report in a similar vein, in order for you to catch on that the subject is signs of a tilt toward Islamist control of the country? quote:
Kirata The internal policies of a muslim state are not the issue, but it works nicely as a straw man. Good luck with that. quote:
ORIGINAL: Kirata quote:
ORIGINAL: tweakabelle You really need to figure out what you are talking about. Do come back when you do. Actually, you need to figure out what I'm talking about. [:D] There is a difference between an Islamic state, and the situation that arises if radical Islamist groups gain control of national governments. Radical Islam is a pan-national movement with a very unpleasant agenda. K. Sorry it's not up to me to work out solutions to you flatly contradicting yourself. So do tell us: in what sense is the type of Govt operating in Egypt not the internal affair of Egyptians? I can help you avoid similar embarrassments in the future. Don't take information from sites with obvious interests and agendas at face value. If you can't find information sources that are more objective, look instead for independent confirmation before pressing the panic button. Here's one example of why Israeli pronouncements of impending doom demand to be distrusted: The first Israeli claim of Iranian nuclear weapons program that I am aware of was made in 1991 by Barak, currently Israeli Defence Minister. Barak further claimed that the Iranians would have a WMD complete and ready to go by 1999. Today, a full 20 years after Barak's claim, Iran still doesn't have a WMD ready to go. There is a widespread suspicion/belief in the West that Iran's nuclear energy program hides a covert WMD program. To date, this claim has not been proven. This claim relies on info supplied by Israeli and Western intelligence agencies, who have a less-than-stellar track record in this area (Iraq's alleged WMDs? and all the trouble that caused?) Even the village idiot can work out that such claims ought to treated with a degree of caution. Treating information from self interested sites prudently and sceptically will not only help you avoid future embarrassment, in time it will assist in restoring your credibility on Middle Eastern issues, which at the moment lies in ruins. And all the damage self inflicted too.
