...consider how much noise they made over h1n1...  I mean we all just had to get shots and tamiflu.

Now we could hear a pin drop.

I only took a flu shot because I needed eye surgery and would be in that environment, I won't be getting another.

About three times I almost died for refusing medicl care they say. Fukum. I have set my decision aside for now to facilitate some work being done. After that it's back to no drugs. In fact I stopped the only AB I was on the other day.

The day will come soon when I will need nothing from them. This year.

If you can find it, read about the boiled frog.

Never stop an antibiotic. You have no idea how tenacious bugs can be. Ever have methicillin AND vancomycin-resistant Staph aureus? I have.

Interesting map, but I don't think it's a fallout model.

It apparently is a map of radioactive I-131 fallout, but obviously not from the Fukushima incident. It represents estimated exposures from US atmospheric testing of nuclear weapons in Nevada according to the source. Those tests released around 5.55 x 10^18 Bq of I-131 based on an NCI report. For comparison, an estimate of I-131 released from the reactors in Japan during the first week places it between 10^16 and 7 x 10^17 Bq. Chernobyl released between 1.2 x 10^18 and 1.7 x 10^18 Bq of I-131.

It has been a pretty big release, but the dispersion means it isn't an appreciable health risk here at all. Incidentally, I've found the monitoring data that UC Berkeley's Department of Nuclear Engineering has been publishing interesting.
Hanford WA. See my link above.

HK, I'm surprised you're not up on this. There is a significant school of thought now that alot of this shit was caused by antibiotics, and in a country or two, they have had better success NOT treating MRSA. At least with ABs.

There has been a growing proponent of this thinking over the years, that we were not meant to live in a sterile world, that it is important to actually catch diseases to gain immunity. Indeed vaccinations are like "fake" diseases, they ready the body for a possible future infection.

There is a school of thought that entails letting the babies out in the mud, let them eat dirt and worms and get filthy as they wanna be. They have shown some figures, but even if I find them, I can't consider them conclusive, but I can consider the assertation plausible at least. The first thing that comes to mind is all of those people who survived before antiseptics.

When I drop a fork on the floor, what do I do ? You throw it in the sink and get a new fork, I just pick it up and wipe it off on my pantsleg. Know why ? What is on that floor is part of my environment, and when I walk around barefoot, it's getting into my system anyway. I never understood why people who smoke open their car windows. YOU wanted the smell of that thing, that is why you lit the MF. Why waste it. With weed we didn't. Fuck, my family is almost totally lawless, I could have my buddies in my room and burn one when I was a kid. But we went out in the car, and no matter how hot it was we kept the windows closed. Keep breathing that shit - we PAID for it.

I believe a bunch of different shit, hard to prove if at all, but equally hard to disprove - to me. There are only certain things I really avoid. Of course radiation is one of them, but shit that's how far away ?

Ya just gotta play it by ear.

FR--

Notice the units in the map, too.  It's in rads.  Way too high for the Japan stuff.

BTW, we had enough shit flying around from nuke testing that Polaroid and Kodak told the government that they were seeing problems with their X-ray film lines.  The fallout was in the water supply to the plant.

Take a REAL GOOD LOOK, Term
Except mine is/was on my heel. And down to the bone. When I went to the hospital it was classified High Severity. In other words in danger of losing life ot limb. The infection was preading up my leg, which is why I went to the ER.

You don't fuck around with this shit. If you do, you lose a limb or you die.

My infectious diseases doc used to work for the CDC, which, by the way, is over by Emory, about 10 miles from me. ATL has some of the smartest guys in the world here. He put me on shit so new they barely have names for them... cubicin and invanz. Look them up. I still have the Groshong in my chest. Look it up.

You're a sharp guy, Term. But I can guarantee you don't know fuck all about infectious diseases. You should get over yourself and undertstand that there are people out there who know waaay more than you do.

Now, if you want to try and cure yourself with prayer (which is exactly what your wishful thinking is), go for it. You probably had enough antibiotic to dodge the bullet. But I will tell you that if you get a bad one, well, Cleveland's too far for me to go to a funeral, and I really don't know you anyway. If you want to commit suicide via gram-negative (look it up) pathogens, fine by me.

BTW, while you are looking shit up, look up why the average human lifespan was once about 30. Here's a hint: infant mortality and SEPSIS.
