Power of the universe
Is there anything more attractive, powerful, primal or alluring than a woman that loves being a woman?

Oh dear. To disagree with the Troll. But, alas, it must be.

i have never, and i mean never, felt comfortable around women. That's part of the reason why i became a cook. At first, they started me on the register. They ALWAYS start girls on the register. For several years i did front of the house. i hated it. i was awkward and painfully shy. Talking to customers made me embarassed, bored, stressed, or angry, depending on the situation. i counted the minutes till i could leave.

But it wasn't just shyness. The other girls were often fake or catty. All that gossip and backstabbing. And the laziness. This attitude of, why should i have to do my own work. Bitching and moaning about NOTHING. Lying all the time. Not giving a straight answer to anything. Not being able to give a straight answer myself, for fear of hurting someone's feelings. i could go on, but i'm starting to whine, so i think i'll stop there.

i can't explain how good it felt at last to be put in the kitchen. All of a sudden people were just who they were. Words meant just what they meant. It was simple. There was no subtext, no hidden meaning. What little was said was brief and to the point. But mostly there was just action. Back there, you move your ass, or else. It like a little athletic dance. And the biggest shock of all was finding out that i was good at it. i'm really sorry, but fuck all that *grace* and shit. Just give me a couple of sharp knives, a bowl of soaking thymus glands, and a blowtorch, and i'm good.

Troll, i'm glad You like womenly women. More power to You. Knock Yourself out. Slurp away.

But i have to admit, i DON'T. If You ask me, there are about a million things more alluring than a woman who adores being feminine. Or perhaps, for that matter, a man who adores being masculine.

pam

What you describe is not a byproduct of feminity or masculinity. It is immaturity, laziness, all around twatiness. Do not mistake one for the other. Otherwise you will do some amazing people, and yourself, a great disservice.

Fair enough, but in that case i guess i don't really understand what the words, "femininity" or "masculinity" mean.

edited to add (shit, too late, She already posted again): i never meant to say that i think all women are like that, (or all men are), or that the words "femininity" or "masculinity" don't also have positive attributes associated with them.

Ah ha........I caught my own typo too late!

Pam, you've got me there. What really is feminine or masculine? If you ask 100 different people you are probably going to get 100 different, even if slight, answers.

I am thinking a lot, the last few days, about a friend of mine that died recently. Gorgeous woman. If you saw her, there would never, even on her worst day, be any doubt of her gender. Yet, if you knew her personally, there were many qualities that were in fact, quite masculine in the opinion of many.

And so I suppose, I will have to answer you in a way that is all too vague. What is feminine or masculine is going to be a personal perception, relation, concept. It cannot be any other way and be fair to all. But my point is this, whatever your perception is, it does not have to be 100% negative. My friend mentioned above was no saint. None of us are, male or female or some combination of such. She was unquestionably feminine and owned it like no other woman I've ever met. Yet she would have been the first to tell you she was a faulty human being......regardless of her femininity.

What the Troll celebrates in his version of the devine feminine is not perfection. If I know him like I think I do....he is celebrating all of the woman... all of the good stuff and the bad stuff. Embracing her as she is and loving her, perhaps even in spite of herself.

Sorry, i wasn't trying to rain on Your parade. i was just saying that, in my own experience, femininity isn't always a bed of roses.

Now worries doll. I know everyone is going to reflect on things as they FEEL them and not within the same place I post them.

Slurp~
