It's happened to me with songs - I remember hearing "She thinks my tractor's sexy" while driving through Kansas. I had to pull over the car because I was laughing so hard!

Yes, I love stumbling across different music / musicians. I once went to hear David Sanborn play - one of my friends bought the tix. Turned out he was opening for CSN (ha!)... also, there was a duet - Amy and Leslie - that opened for Holly Near. I was more impressed wtih the duo than with Holly.

best,
sunshine

Every artist I know was someone I'd never heard before.

You just haven't been with the right tractor

Actually, it happened to me over the weekend....discovering an artist, not a tractor....I was looking for the instrumental song "Sleep Walk", which is an old old classic, and I found a version by guitarist Joe Satriani. Now, I had heard of him before, but never really listened to him. Wow.

I wonder if he has a tractor.....

it's not so much that i stumble across artists, but i'm told about them because others know my tastes.

my son and i like alot of the same music (it's my claim that playing music to them while in the womb is an influence, he got no choice listening to my stuff lol). i'm a goth/punk/rock chic at heart, but also love to dance, so anything with a good dance beat too.

i love the moments of playing something for the first time that instantly grabs you. i think sevendust have to be the last band to truely do that.

wow.. I love Sleepwalk..one of my favorite pieces of music.. I had no idea Satriani had covered it.. amazing sound!!

I love bagpipes.. I used to have a cassette of Amazing Grace done by a duet of pipers that NEVER failed to give me chills.. I have not been able to find it on youtube (the versions I find on youtube all bring drums and/or orchestra into it).
