Hello!

I've been lurking on the board for a number of days now...always a good idea to get the lay of the land on a message board before diving in, don't you think?

Before I do the standard "this is who I am and how the hell I ended up here" intro, I'd like to say what a pleasure it has been to get to "know" some of you by reading through a volume of posts here. I'll admit to being partial to the posters with a biting sense of humor (you know who you are), but I've been truly touched by the kindness and compassion shown to folks in need.

Okay here we go:

Happily married, 45 year old dominant female. I've spent most of my life not practicing the lifestyle, save a handful of experiences in my 20's. Practicing or not, I never had a shred of doubt as to who I am -- even if I'm sitting in a very vanilla house on a very vanilla block in a very vanilla suburb.

Husband (my second, having been widowed young), started out vanilla but couldn't last completely vanilla very long with me. <eg> We've played this way and that, but after 10 years together, I think it's about time for more. (More from my husband, I figure I should emphasize, so as not to mislead anyone). I'm not sure where we will end up, but I am determined to try. I don't want to find out that he would have loved for me to XYZ his ABC when we're 95 years old and too ancient to do anything about it.

And I'm here for....friends, advice, companionship, to learn. Thank you for everything I've learned so far.

Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth in Philly welcome to Cm. I have been to Philly many times having grew up in Delaware it is a fine city. I saw 25 metal concerts at the Spectrum in the 80s when a ticket only costed 10 to 12 dollars lol.

And Delaware is a fine state, home of the "no sales tax" shopping. Where do people from Philly buy a refrigerator? Delaware! [;)]

Funny you should mention concerts at the Spectrum. I was just reminiscing the other day, the first concert I ever went to was Bruce Springsteen on his Born to Run tour when I was 14 or so at the Spectrum. Ruined me for life! I thought every rock concert was 3 1/2 hours long with the performer playing his guts out...doing 11ty billion encores.

Never did any metal but I bet that's a better show in general than my next concert, which was The Steve Miller Band.
