LOL That was funny...thanks for posting it.

I guess the snake found something it just couldn't...

I don't blame the snake.  I would have tried it too.

The guy who helped out - the back of his short said something like "Your Mother's a Whore"...

LadyNTrainer -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/17/2011 10:01:42 PM)

Fuck that stupid animal abusing bitch.  She was mishandling and stressing the snake and causing it physical pain.  What did anyone think would happen?  That was a totally inappropriate grip she had on it, and it was showing clear behavioral signs of unhappiness pretty early on.  Where was the experienced wrangler who should have been supervising?  An inexperienced handler should never have been permitted to continue stressing the animal like that.  They are living, feeling creatures, not props made of rubber.  The result was utterly predictable.

Abusing a harmless animal then killing it when it nips to defend itself is morally reprehensible.  Blame this one on the idiot humans, not the snake.

I fucking hate humanity sometimes.  This is one of those times.

WyldHrt -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 12:49:52 AM)

I'm with LNT on how that idiot handled the snake. It is obvious to anyone with even a little experience that the animal was stressed, and snakes don't exactly say, "Hey, cut it out" when they are uncomfortable. They bite. Not the snake's fault that the nearest target was the chest of said surgical addicted idiot.

That said, the snake apparently is alive and well. The reports of its death were apparently a bad joke about 'silicone poisoning':

You are aware that a snake would probably murder you in a second if it could, right?

WyldHrt -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:07:43 AM)

Umm... animals can't commit murder. Just saying. [8|]

popeye1250 -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:14:56 AM)

Ladies help! A snake bit my penis!

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:16:21 AM)

There is a theory that psychopaths operate under the reptillian brain level.

Secondly, murder does mean to kill/slaughter.  I think snakes are capable of killing, wouldn't you say?

WyldHrt -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:37:50 AM)

The legal definition of murder is one human being killing another human being. While an animal can kill a human, it cannot murder a human.
Does that clarify my statement for you?

That said, I have handled many large constrictors, some big enough to kill an adult human. Were your theory correct, all would have tried to kill me since a snake isn't capable of understanding 'can't'. Shockingly, I am still here. The last bite I received was from a baby Burmese python and completely my fault.

NihilusZero -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:46:45 AM)

Despite the accuracy of addressing the handling capabilities shown, we're just playing species preference games if taking the overt pro-snake view in this discussion (unless we are impossibly neurotic).

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:51:16 AM)

–verb (used with object) 4. Law . to kill by an act constituting murder. 5. to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbarously. 6. to spoil or mar by bad performance, representation, pronunciation, etc.: The tenor murdered the aria.

We're not discussing legality.  Nothing in the post suggested such.

A snake, like most animals, would eat you if they could.  They still eat their own offspring.  You're just a indigestion problem.

WyldHrt -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 1:59:50 AM)

It's late, and I have no desire to spend more time correcting your rampant ignorance tonight.
Your last sentence was all I needed to read.

Marc2b -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 7:03:47 AM)

I think the pertinent distinction is one of morality. A snake will kill to eat or defend itself but it is not capable of killing because of hatred. A snake, or any other animal, will not kill you because it doesn’t like your politics, or religion or because you surprised it while it was breaking into your house to steal your rare coin collection.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For everyone (just for the fun of it): Snakes can be problem even when they are not really there. I posted this a long (looooong) time ago. It was culled from a list of humorous police reports.

Police and an ambulance were dispatched when a woman reported hearing a gunshot from the house next door followed by her neighbor loudly cursing and screaming, "No! Oh God no!" Upon arrival the police learned that the man had accidentally shot himself twice with a single bullet. Apparently the man was half awake when he became aware of movement in the middle of the bed. Groggy, the man was not aware that he was having a nocturnal erection. Instead, he leapt to the conclusion that a snake had slithered into his bed. The man grabbed his pistol from his night stand and shot at the supposed snake. The bullet blew off the head of his penis and then went through his left foot.

Poster’s Commentary: He was once know by his friends as “Long John,” but now goes by the nickname, “Stupid Stubby.” [:D]

Clearly you don't know jack about snakes.  A juvenile boa constrictor is not capable of doing much harm to anyone, and even the venomous species are mostly docile and can be handled easily on a snake hook or even a plain stick if they are not hurt or scared.   If a non-idiot had been handling this animal gently, there would not have been an issue.

Animals don't "murder", but they do defend themselves if you attack them, hurt them or scare them.  The equivalent of what happened here is if you picked up a kitten by one hind leg and ignored its increasingly frantic cries of pain and fear, then were finally bitten after the poor thing had been dangled from one leg, pulled by the ears and shaken around for several minutes.  That is exactly what this idiot did to the snake.  Snakes can't cry, but they can show fear and pain in their body language.  Which that animal was definitely doing in response to being mishandled.  You DON'T grab and pull on a snake that way.  It hurts them.  Personally I'd have been tempted to kick the stupid bitch to the floor and take the snake to a vet.  She deserved what she got; the animal is an innocent victim.

I seriously doubt it had ever bitten anyone before.   This was a very tame snake that initially accepted the inexperienced handler's roughness with minimal protest.  It took several very painful and inappropriate moves for it to finally decide it had had enough.  I would guess it was no older than 3 or 4, with the classic captive morphology produced by steady temperature and a high fat diet.  Of which I do not approve, but it is clear that this animal was born in captivity.  This snake was a pet, and a well fed one.

You don't accuse a kitten of murder if it bites someone after being mishandled and abused.  A hand-raised juvenile boa may not be as cute as a kitten in your eyes, but it is just as helpless, and just as much a living, feeling creature that can only take so much pain at the hands of a rough handler before it fights back.

Most snake bites in North America are caused by the human attacking the snake.  Keep that in mind and don't be an asshole next time you encounter one.  They have no interest in biting things bigger than themselves,  because it very often causes them considerable damage.  They have what you would term glass jaws, along with fragile teeth and a sensitive little structure called the mandibular symphysis that is a) crucial to the snake's continued ability to eat and b) easily torn by the forces involved if they bite something that weighs more than they do and it jerks away quickly.  Actually all of their bones are ridiculously fragile, and they are rightfully terrified of even an accidental step from a 100+ pound creature.

Respect snakes and they will generally respect you.  A tame, captive raised one is certainly unlikely to fear bite unless you are abusing it pretty severely.  Which this idiot was.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Snake bites Breast... and DIES! (3/18/2011 9:16:42 AM)

all i have to say is I ♥ LadyNTrainer
snakes often get a bad rap because they're snakes. they're seen as awful vicious things when they really aren't. they're pretty docile; even a wild snake would rather run away from you than fight you. they don't have a constant murderous intent, and are often terribly mischaracterized by people who really don't understand a thing about them.

i feel sorry for the snake because it was mishandled which resulted in biting to defend itself. when dealing with humans, we often say that a person can totally defend him/herself if there's a reasonable threat in the victim's own mind. the snake, in its own mind, believed self-defense was necessary. but everyone on earth will be going "oh poor model!"

pfft.
these are living creatures, not handbags, not shoes, not props. treat them with the respect living creatures deserve.
