*gropefondles VAA*

I used to like LImewire.. there was very little I wanted that wasn't findable there.  I've heard too many horror stories about it since I had to swap out computers, though...

"With memory ( you mean data storage) getting bigger and cheaper, the risk of loosing it all gets bigger too.
People forget that. "

Not me. That's why there are many more harddrives in my house than frying pans.

"In April 1995 1 gb sold at 625 dollars. Today 2 tb sells at 89 euro. That is two thousand times as much memory for a seven times lower price in 16 years. If that extrapolates at the same rate then in another sixteen years one might buy four thousand tb for thirteen dollars/euros. It will be possible to store nearly all data available to our species - though undoubtedly any individual will consult only a tiny bit of all that data. What (is and) will be required is data retrieval software"

Are you aware of the new disks that make bluray obsolete ? Depth multiplexed, sometimes called holographic disks. The capacity is so high noone can use it. And that's why people haven't heard of it. There is no money to be made. How much would a bluray data disk hold ?

And about putting all your eggs in one basket, can you imagine scratching a disk that has 1,000 movies on it ?

I'll keep dragging my feet thank you. When I got the 500GB I could've had the terabyte drive for about five bucks more. I didn't want it because of reliability. I am way beyond being able to back up on DVDRs. My first HD was a 40MB I think, now there is more RAM than that in your phone, and I don't even mean a cellphone !

"tease,,,,,come on you know where I am!! Put a smile on my face lol!![;)] "

Perhaps one day the waiting will be over :-)

Actually I forgot where you are but I think it's south of here. I certainly hope so because to the north is a lake and I am not a strong swimmer.

If north of here, move. LOL. (note the threads praising the weather). I want all those people's addresses so I CAN GO KILL THEM ! "It's still warm here in Florida", baby you are just asking for it. (I stopped shoveling snow, it just snows more. To continue to shovel would be evidence of insanity, and I can't let them know about that)
