I watched to the point where he says its all muddy, then I couldn't stand to see what was probably coming. A fer de lance is very poisonous, isn't it? Did he get a Darwin award for this?

Two words: Darwin Award.

I'd have laughed my ass off if the snake had bitten him..   gawd.. so what if it's muddy?  just walk through the mud, FFS!!

No surprise. In Uni, my senior project had to do with the migration of elephant seals southward, specifically to the beaches around San Simeon, California; and the interactions between the newly arrived seals and tourists. The beaches were closed to tourists and the bluffs had signs all over warning that disturbing the seals was not permitted, but tons of folks climbed the fences and ignored the signs.

I still shudder when remembering one particular idiot with a video camera standing directly between 2 bulls getting ready to fight for territory (bulls can weigh 2-3 tons and said idiot nearly became a pancake), not to mention the multiple morons who thought that putting their young children right next to or even on the back of a sleeping female... an 1800lb wild animal... to take a picture was a great idea. Yep, but I didn't put that into my project overview... silly me.

There was a case where a German tourist whacked a female seal with a board to 'wake her up' for a pic. The seal woke up alright. She also rolled over and removed the tourist's leg below the knee with her teeth. Some folks from my dept were assigned to investigate and see if the seal should be destroyed for her behavior... ummm, really?

After a proper investigation, a report was submitted. The recommendation was that the tourist be euthanized. Unfortunately, the PTB were not amused, and a more PC report was later submitted, holding the seal blameless in the incident. [8D]

Reminds me of the "accidents" when a parent wants to take a picture with "that cute little bear" in the Smokies or Yellowstone.

Only one word needed: MALE [:D]  I swear whenever you see any of these silly videos or stupid stunts, it's always men involved.  I saw on TV one time where a man covered himself in deer lure, walked out to his backyard to see if he could attract a moose.  He had to talk his wife into vid'ing it.  And it took quite a bit of talking and convincing on his part.  Lesson learned by said male?  Don't wear deer lure the moose will attack and it's a hella lot bigger than you are.  Injuries were done and wife was laughing while in the safety of their home.
