I borrowed the ex's Kindle last summer when both my arms were broken. I couldn't turn pages but if the Kindle was placed on a pillow next to the left arm and up under my hand I could push the buttons.
It was ok. I gave it back at the end of my convalescence and never missed it. That does not seem to be the typical experience of most people I've talked to with an e-reader, they all seem to love them.

If I ever did get one I think it would be as some other posters have suggested...a tool, an accessory. I'm not sure anything would replace real books for me. The one thing I would love is having it for travel, taking with multiple books on a trip is irritating.

I have a Pandigital Novel and I'm really not sure how I ever lived without it. In addition to being a great e-reader you can also cruise the web, use it for email and download music and video. It runs on the Android OS and there is even a download on the Pandigital site that turns it into a tablet . At less than $130 I think it's a bargain.
