LookieNoNookie -> Just requesting a little help... (3/4/2011 5:29:59 PM)

A friend of mine has recently discovered she has Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma Disease.

http://www.cancer.org/cancer/non-hodgkinlymphoma/detailedguide/non-hodgkin-lymphoma-what-is-non-hodgkin-lymphoma

She's not the type to tell the world her troubles, and the treatment isn't going all that well.  Barring some lucky advance, or some harsher treatement, she probably won't make it through Christmas.  She's young.

I know there are some here that think prayer is a waste of time, others who believe it can singularly work miracles.

I'm of the latter.

Even if you think it's silly....do me (but mostly her) a favor and be silly tonight and maybe for a while longer.

For those of you that believe as I do that it can do amazing things....join with me please.

She has a few things left in this life to accomplish....and I'd very much like her to.

(Thanks :) )

JJ

Having just experienced my own cancer scare...I would like to offer my prays for your friend.

She's fortunate to have a friend such as you.

my grandfather battled with this before his death; for him, it was all about his outlook
how is your friend feeling about herself and her future? it's hard to be upbeat in the face of cancer, but hopefully she can

i'll send some good thoughts her way

The Lance Armstrong foundation. Livestrong, has two "guidebooks" available, which I whole heartedly recommend. One is a basic journal, the other a tool for dealing with doctors, tests, and so on.

It's also one of the few places that can provide you with information on clinical trials in her area.

Hopefully there might be something out there that might help her.

Prayer is far from silly, no matter the religion.

I don't think prayer is silly.

Consider it done!      I hope for kind, comfortable, healing days to come for you, and your friend.    M

Prayer can be powerful......i send my prayers to your friend, her family and to you as a good friend who cares deeply....i hope there can be a miracle but, if not, then i pray for strength for all of you.....and keep positive thoughts!

I'm also sending thoughts your, and her, way.  I hope you all find the strength you need to get thru this time.  {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

I don't think prayer is silly either. Even if there is nothing there to answer it, the human mind is a powerful tool, we have no idea what it can do.
She will be in my prayers until we get an update saying "cured".

Nice :)

(Can't wait to be in a position to tell you all that very same thing :) )

A high fever might help. I dunno about malaria; it can cause cancer in combination with a herpes virus. Perhaps malaria in combination with an antiviral medication?

Actually...80% of NHL is curable....it's that 20% that pisses me off.

I think she's gonna make it....she has to.

Because I want her to.

Ergo/sum.

Looki my close girlfriend had this about 4 years ago, after the birth of her first baby, and we all were devastated. They said it was stage 3, then 4.....well....she is now in remission, with a second baby, and doing great.

Prayers said, and tell your friend this ok? Hugs...
