Look at all the lawyers now, it's like leaves falling off the trees in autumn.
You can be on "work release" and go to law school! "Have a "degree" in "Political Science?" "Step this way!
I could take an ad out in the paper for house painters and probably half the applicants would have some type of "degree."
Can you imagine some kid getting a "degree" in sociology for $150 k and then painting houses for the rest of his life with a monthly loan payment of $1,000? He'd be the one with the shitty car or truck!
Anyone who listens to Newt Gingrich probably (does) have a "degree!"

Marini, of course not all degrees are worthless. But yes, too many people have them.
When lawyers are falling out of trees you know it's the old "law of supply and demand thing."
And unis are just producing "more product" to push out like Micky D's, here's the "Mc Rib degree," "Let's see how this Hamburgler degree sells", the schools have been in it to make a buck for quite some time now!
With much less manufacturing in this country it's simple that we'll need less managers, accountants, sales people, secretaries, etc so people won't be doing those jobs. This global economy is killing the middle class in this country and Washington fiddles!
As for "online universities, one of my Coast Guard buddies wife is a Nurse Practitioner and she's studying for her Doctorate, mostly *online.*
Naturally she had to do her practical work (very little) at uni but most of it she does online.
I don't know why but all N.P.'s will have to have a Ph.D by 2015.
As for law schools they really do need to close their doors for 5 to 10 years. Pretty soon you'll get into a taxi cab and when you get out the driver will say, "Oh, here's my card, I'm an attorney just in case you might need one or know of anyone else who does."
That's because most of these so-called universities are doing nothing but sucking on Uncle Sams tits. Almost every congressthing of power got milk from 'Salie Mea' a big govt. tit. No more, now the taxpayers take the hit with no profit on the 'loss', only loss so we no longer have to pay a profit...to lose money. Isn't capitalism fun ?
Throw money at a capitalist to fix a problem and you have...more problems.
Oh BTW again, Oldt...er Newt Gingrich is nothing more at all than the Paris Hilton of politics and media...famous only 'cause he's famous. Otherwise, he's just full of shit like a Christmas turkey and a great revisionist of history, now.
