I wanted to comment, but just because (I don't really care about dates but ...) this is just under the wire on the west coast for black history month, I thought I would throw it out there. Now.

I think Gordon Parks was a photographer for LIFE magazine too.

What a kind generous lovely person. Thanks T^T for bringing this person into my life. I was touched and moved by his story.

He tells his story with such humanity, there's no rancour or bitterness at all. How could he go through all that hatred and not only survive, but survive as a complete compassionate loving person? I don't know that I could.

There's a lesson here for everyone I suspect.
