I have noticed that a lot of folks, both Dom's and subs, post photos of themselves with friends. The pictures are often from a party, graduation, on the beach, etc. What disturbs me is that most make no effort to blur, blacken or cut their friend's faces. They treat CM like they are posting on any social network site and give no thought to whether their friends would appreciate being displayed on an adult site. In addition to that, this site is full of assholes pretending to be other then they are. They love 'convincing' amateur photos like these to complete their fraudulent profiles. Perhaps CM should adopt a policy that pictures with multiple people in them be edited for only one visible face?.

I understand your point.  When there is no significant relationship with the additional persons pictured, it's My personal opinion that it is something that folks should avoid.

However, it isn't as black and white.  Using Myself as an example, I have other people in My profile pictures.  My husband and My sub also have Me posted on theirs.  The question is, who gets to police it when folks have other people in their pictures?  It would be a monumental job to try to figure out who is collared to whom and who has permission to post additional persons in their profile compared to who doesn't.

I really do agree with you in premise.  I think people shouldn't post pics of others without their consent.  The issue is, how do you enforce it?

I don't think it's so much about a secret society.  To Me, I'm guessing there are some of those 'social shots' that include faces of friends who have no intention of having their face posted on a kink site on a third party's profile. 

From that aspect, it's a consent issue.  We either mean what we say about that or we don't.

Yep, I agree. The TOS sez it, whether people do it or not. We can hope for all the integrity and honor on the site, however we all know that a lot of people think cuz the boys and girls are kinky, they are easy... so we get HNGs, wankers, cheaters and the whole band wagon of BLECK on the site that has no idea the, potential, harm they are doing to the non-consenting model.

Think of how much guts it took for me to post the pics of that guy I have to play in real life. By troll standards he is found severely lacking, but what can ya do?

Sadly, pictures of friends can cause said friends to lose jobs and relationships through no fault of their own.

But I agree with LP. There really is no way to know.

I have a pic with myself, GreedyTop, and GOFkat on my profile.  The two ladies are fully aware and consented to being in the pic.  And it gives me some status to be seen with them.  [:)]

Have to prove that was the reason. Once someone wants you gone (after finding a picture on a kink site)... from a job or a relationship... all they need to do is find an excuse.

i have actually blurred the faces of unsuspecting bystanders in pictures before posting them on "special case sites." =p facebook is one thing, but someone could say "hey i saw you in a picture with this chick on 'insert kink site here'" and it actually COULD have implications for them.
but it's a personal thing; either you take that into consideration or you don't.
paint.net is free and makes all that stuff SUPER easy. =p

Enforcing it is a problem. However CM does do some review of pictures so it is possible to establish a rule that photos with multiple people in it should have only one face that is recognisable. True, this creates a problem for couples, but all it means is that the same photo gets posted twice and a different face is blurred in each.

It's one thing when you see a picture of someone in a bar, with a dozen people in the distant background. But I have also seen pictures with the Dom/sub standing arm in arm with an unidentified friend. This type of picture is the kind I see as the biggest problem. If that friend should ever lose a job, have a relationship damaged, etc because his/her picture is floating around CM then the fallout could be very unpleasant for the poster.
A related, and potentially bigger problem is the issue of the other parties being of age. A profile by a 19 yearold Domme shows her in cap and gown at graduation (presumably High School) with her arms around two girlfriends who were not in caps and gowns. Does this mean they were still in high school and presumably under 18? I have also seen pictures where the poster has someone who is clearly a minor in the picture with him/her.

Yes, addressing this is a nuisance, no argument.

No, it actually doesn't mean that.  Why should couples or poly triads be penalized for other people not respecting the 'others' that they chose to post pictures of?  For example, the three of us shouldn't have to post the same picture just to be linked to one another.  We choose to have separate accounts with separate pictures displayed so that we are easily identifiable.  In clip's case, having the pic up with My face easily recognized  allows him the benefit of being associated with My household at first glance.  I would certainly hope that a site focused on BDSM wouldn't insist on blurring out the face of someone's Owner.

Good point and I agree. I don't comparmentalize my life, but maybe others do, and - apart from street photography - I won't upload any photo or image of me with someone else without their permission and knowledge.

It's not so much about who sees them and the potential consequences. Many people are sensitive about being photographed, videoed and what happens to the images afterwards and I feel it's a basic of basic common courtesy and consideration of their feelings and opinion to always ask first.

Obviously when it's known that there isn't an issue this of course isn't necvessary. Common sense.

Please use the "report photo" option to report this sort of thing. Reported photos are manually reviewed by a staff member.
