Hello there from New Zealand. The earthquake that has hit Christchurch has been devasting and the international support has been simply outstanding.
For those of you that have not visited NZ, Christchurch is in the South Island
and is our 3rd largest city. Wellington is at the end of the North Island, we are the
capital, and flying time to Christchurch is 45 minutes. Ironically, Wellington lies
on a fault line and we were always supposed to be the place where the big one was to hit. The fault line that has destroyed Christchurch, was never known.

In Wellington, we never felt anything when it happened, contrary to media reports.
Los of Kinksters in Chch, it's quite active and am endeavouring to find out through
our own internet, how everyone is faring.
If anyone is coming to the World Cup, don't let this stop you. Christchurch is only
one place, and we do have a beautiful country.

In Christchurch there a lot of people missing, and a temporary morgue been set up. Will let you know if any kingsters are reported missing through our own 'adultforum'.

Be kind to each other..you just never know whats around the corner.!

Kia ora and thanks for your message, Davy!

Been to NZ twice and loved it both times. Haven't yet made it to Christchurch, though. Keeping that lovely city and its people in my prayers.

Los Angeles county fire has a search and rescue team on the way. Their dog found 5 people still alive under the rubble in Haiti last year.

I love Anzacs! I was in Christchurch a couple of Chrissy's ago for graduation; had a lovely time in the botanical gardens and museums. I brought out my pictures of the Avon and spires when I was trying to get through to the NZ Red Cross to throw a few Canuck bucks your way. Got through to a friend last night, and he and all of his are well, and the Red Cross site is up again for us:

So to all we northern hemispherers, LOTR nerds, poms and colonials, don't just pray, give!
