I'm very new to all of this and I do have a Master, but it would be nice to have someone I can talk to about things.  The only person I know who is in the lifestyle besides myself is my Master, and I'm fairly certain the majority of people I know would think I'm nuts.

Piccola, when you read the forums, are there a couple of other subs who you usually think are spot on? If so, then write to them asking if you can bounce a situation off them. I've had this happen a couple of times and it's always flattering to have someone ask for my thoughts. It doesn't always turn into a friendship but I've never known anyone to be offended.

For the reasons you stated in your opening post, the "Mentor" stuff is, in my opinion, total and complete bullshit.  Granted, years ago before the internet, I might potentially see some advantage to finding a "Mentor" (and one you're not intimate with), but these days... if you have a question, you need login to the forums, ask your question, and get a ton of varying views and opinions -- not just one.  And yes... you can become friends with people in the forums that you can call and talk to as well.  For the most part, the vast majority who offer to "Mentor" are just using a different angle to get into your pants.  That's not a "Mentor"... that's a "Fuck Buddy".  No alleged "Mentor" can "train" you... they can only "train" you to what they want/desire, which would likely be vastly different from what someone else (i.e., the person you choose as your significant other) will want/desire.

Find a friend, not a Mentor... that will ensure you find the person you're meant to be with much faster!!!

My Best!!!  [:)]

You have an entire forum here, as well as others on similar sites/forums you can chat with, no???
