Hello and Good day ladies and Gentlemen of CM,

    I come to you today to ask a very personal question... perhaps the most personal question that could be asked in a place like this. I know some will skim over and smile, others will respond and grin, but here it is:

When does that moment hit you? The moment when the tingles singe up your spine and the adrenaline explodes through your veins, then the proverbial butterflies take flight in your stomach and your fingers twitch in anticipation?

- For some it's when the tying up begins. The ropes being fastened in place and the first few heavy breaths.
- For some it's when the arm goes back for the first time and the D/ has committed themselves to the act of driving home the paddle/whip/crop.
- For some it's that very first gentle touch that will undeniably lead to pain.

For me CM, it is the planning itself... The dreaming and drawing up of the scene. Choosing the right tools for the night, checking my inventory of rubber gloves, toys, clothing, ropes, chains, and first aid kit. My body screams loudest when I zip my bag closed and make that phone call to let my pet know that I'm ready for them.

When does that moment sing for you CM?

it depends on a lot of things for me. certain people can get me going with just the voice -- maybe that's a conditioned response formed in a long-term situation.
with rope, it's pretty instant; the minute it touches my skin, i'm tingly and and getting weak in the knees -- no clue why, i've just always been that way.
sometimes with just straight impact scenes, it's hard to get into it without some touching and sensuality.
and other times not so much.

For me it is when  we have done what we set out to do and I look at her and say "MINE!", formally claiming her, and she looks at me and kneels and says "YOURS".

What makes me "sing" is the richness and fullness and vibrancy of my relationship with Carol. The moments are oft-times prompted by absolutely nothing other than my sudden awareness that she's in my space and that's a wonderful thing.

We do various sex things which get me hot, but all such feelings inevitably pale in comparison to the larger wonderfulness of "us".

This is a beautiful thing Jeff. Hopefully one day I'll be privileged enough to find something near to this.

It's certainly a peak moment, but overall there's a finality to it... it usually leads to the wind down.

As a Human male (I word it this way because this won't apply to FT), my mentality changes the moment that release hits. All the pent up anger, frustration, vileness, volatility... all of it curbs for a while after the release. Perhaps it's because it was all funneled into creativity for the scene or play.

Hopefully as I age (I refuse to say mature, because that ain't happening) that will change and the release itself will just be another part of the play, to be integrated instead of The End.

Edit: Oh refractory period, how I loathe thee at times.

No fair! If the OP had asked about the moment that makes me suddenly religious I'd have gotten the answer right. I'm more of an "Oh God!" sort of guy than a "burst into song" one.

On a more curious note, I'm curious to find out where you got the quite (is it was a quote). It certainly is not the thinking amongst the Psychologists (clinical or not) I mingle with at various functions and symposiums.

I wasn't quoting him for truth, I quoted his foolishness. People's views on an alternative lifestyle tend to vary, and if they're unpleasant views, said people will do anything to ruffle feathers. I tend to quote trolls in my sig. (Still waiting on you here FT)
