Unwanted behavior often happens when the Dominant and the sub/slave do not have good communication. Where there is good communication there should be few reasons to punish. Perhaps you are looking for funishments and not punishments?

Lock them in a room and play Barney the Purple Dinosaur tapes nonstop for 24 hours? All kidding aside, while I respect those who engage in the punishment dynamic I've never understood it. If my One was unhappy with me, nothing he could have ever done could equal what I did to myself.

"Punishment" could mean several things. 1. It's play punishment. That's basically role play. 2. Genuine punishment. Make sure that the sub knows that you;re unhappy/disappointed. Tell him what he did wrong, and how it affected you. Then some kind of physical punishment - make sure it's more intense than he would want if it were for fun. OP you are 19 and your partner is 20, you have a lifetime or for real to garner a truck load of punishment ideas for either pleasure or real, so please search all the forums for punishment and you will have enough to publish your very own text on Punishment.

If you're a full on sadist: Tie up the offending submissive on the floor. Cover the nose in Vaseline. Have a cat walk over the perp's nose shedding fur continually. Having cat fur sticking to - tickling the nose, and unable to scratch it, might be a punishment too harsh for some, but it IS memorable. (Safety police: check submissive's allergy history first...)
