I've made this one and it comes out great. Crusty on the outside and airy on the inside.

Good for you.   I see it doesn't use any ingredients, so I imagine it is quick and easy, seems like it would be a little bland though.

LOL, K, thanks, got the link now.

Ha...yeah I forgot the link.
It's actually quite tasty and reminiscent of a good portuguese bread.

I've been doing the whole sour dough bread thing which really isn't as much work as a person would think. If anyone wants a link to a starter recipe and a bunch of various recipes using it....let me know.

Since I am getting snowed in for a day or two, I've got dough for wheat bread and some cinnamon rolls going right now.

Yes Ms LT,  the link for the sour dough would be greatly appreciated.

And in blue, you can see the link for the recipes.

I've just kinda been tweaking the basic, Version 1, San Franciso Style and had good luck with it.

I did the Sullivan Street Bakery bread yesterday. I will say that it stuck to the towel so I'm thinking about letting it rise the second time on a granite slab instead.

I make a lot of sourdough breads, and I have 5 or 6 different cultures that I use. They really vary quite a bit; I've got strains from Italy, Belgium, Austria, Alaska, New England, and San Francisco, and I use each of them for different applications. If anyone wants any of them, PM me with your address, and I'll be happy to send you some dried starter. You'll have it within a few days. The Belgian strain is best suited for whole wheat bread, and can't be shipped as a dry starter, and the New England seems to be best for crispy biscuits. I'd recommend the Austrian or Alaskan for biscuits, the San Francisco for everyday bread, and the Italian starter for pizza crusts and ciabatta bread, which is the bread I make every week. Very easy; just takes flour, water, milk, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and brown sugar.
