ORIGINAL: RapierFugue If anything, that thing's worse, coz it's liable to attract more attention. What is really nice about the thing is that it would be easy for someone who needs a wheelchair to put it in the car. You wouldn't need a big trunk. It doesn't appear to be too heavy. Who cares if it might attract attention. I'd love to have one. When my COPD acts up it's often difficult to get around. Carbon fibre and SS/composite chairs are way light, and v easy to store. This thing, for at least the first 10 years it gets utilised by chair users, will attract more attention than most of them want. I'm not saying that makes it a bad thing, but I was answering a "won't that be great for wheelchair users" question. And it's fuck all use for chair users, since it will shit itself at the first sign of uneven terrain. The average British (and, I should imagine, American) car park would knacker one in seconds. Interesting idea, but they need a ruggedised version. Also it requires, if I read the blurb right, body mass directional control below the waist, by the operator; that means it's no use to paraplegics.
