Collar me, why is the "multiroom videochat" button always red for ladies?
Very strange to me.

Termyn8or -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 8:49:27 PM)

Lockit -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 8:58:05 PM)

What do you mean always red for ladies?

DarkSteven -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 9:06:14 PM)

As sexism goes, this one seems minor.

Are you referring to the fact that collarme mail messages from Domme are red, from female subs are pink, etc.?

Termyn8or -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 9:25:10 PM)

DS, that's what I thought and that's why I yanked my post. Multiroom videochat. If that's the button on the main page I think the red means something else. The Who's viewing me goes red when someone pervs you since your last look, just like the read mail becomes new messages when you have fresh mail.

On this PC my multiroom... button is not red, it is black. Be aware though that this is a fresh old install, and as far as I know has no IRC or Java from sunmicrosystems on it yet, nothing. Perhaps that means that I can't use it at this time. Being red maybe that means she can.

? ? ?

TheHeretic -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 10:07:53 PM)

I've noticed that when they add a new button, it is frequently red until you click it the first time. If my first guess is right about the source of the OP, "she" isn't likely, under any circumstances, to go into video chat.

Of course, the buttons can also turn red for new mail, or new local users since the last visit, so it mght simply be that, as a dominant female, she gets a lot of requests for video chat. That's not sexism, just the blind search for some virtual sex.

Lockit -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 10:17:40 PM)

I just tried it. The red does not go away when you click on it. Red doesn't mean ladies. It is used for the new messages as well. Red does not have a gender in the list of what is on the site. Red only has a meaning when it comes to dominant women.

Relax... What I don't get is why a woman would be so upset and talk of this being sexist. That may stump me for a bit. Do you always fight so hard for men you can sometimes tolerate... if it in fact did mean women?

There are far better things to be anal about.

Termyn8or -> RE: sexist (1/12/2011 10:44:51 PM)

"if it in fact did mean women? "

That may well put this thread into second gear.

Lucylastic -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 4:30:50 AM)

doesnt fit my definition of sexist

DarkSteven -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 6:26:22 AM)

OP, may I suggest you check out the Politics and Religion forum?  I think your cheerful disposition, refusal to jump to conclusions, and accepting attitude would fit right in there.

The red "multivideo chatroom" doesn't go away when i click on it either, unlike "admirers", "messages", etc. Are You saying that is only true for the women on this site? That would be curious, although i'm not sure i would consider it a serious problem.

Help Me out here,  It's early in My time zone and I definitely need more caffeine.

The multi room video chat is always highlighted red, therefore it is sexist?

This may officially be the dumbest thing I have ever read on CM.

Termyn8or -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 9:31:14 AM)

Oh shit ! Now they're going to look all over the place to top it.

When i log in, the multi video chatroom is always red. The OP's is always red. Lockit's is (apparently) always red. We are all women. That may or may not be a coincidence.

Termy checked His, and apparently His multivideo chatroom is always black. He is also a man. (as far as i know, haha!) That may or not be a coincidence.

None of the other men who have responded to this post have said whether their multi video chatroom shows up red or black. If they would say, then maybe we would have a better idea of whether it is a mere coincidence, or whether it is based on the sex of the user.

Why would collarme program their site to make the female users' multi video chatroom show in red, while the male users' shows in black? i can only speculate. One reason might be to encourage female users to click on that feature, since normally the red lettering means "new messages", "new admirers", etc. Seeing that lettering in red would tend to make a person click on it. It's possible the site wants to encourage women to visit the multivideo chatroom because they need more women there; maybe there are too many men. i don't know whether or not that's true. i've never viewed the homepage from a man's perspective. i have no idea whether the feature shows up always red for women and always black for men.

If more people would respond and say whether theirs is red or black we could determine that.

The OP wrote a vague thread. She assumes that the feature is red only for women, but does not offer any reasons. Maybe she has a good reason. Maybe she has a boyfriend and has noticed that the feature is black when he logs on, or something. Maybe she knows for a fact that it is different colors for men and women, and assumes that is common knowledge to those of us that have been here longer than her.

i don't know whether the OP has any reason to assume that or not. If so, she doesn't say. As for myself, i don't know either, since i have no basis for comparison. However, i think that the question might not be as stupid as it seems.

Nah one of the mod's told me privately that Termy's is black as they have access to his account and like to keep an eye on him

smiles ----- errrrr not to make you more paranoid or anything Termy [:D]

LadyPact -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 4:53:09 PM)

I'm afraid it still is, pam.  Exactly what is the determination that the feature being highlighted in red is actually sexist?  The very definition of sexist is a prejudice against a certain gender.  If your theory is correct, and it is highlighted for women only hoping to encourage them to visit the chats, it's the opposite of sexist to women.

I have access to Firm's account in addition to my own.  Mine shows in red, Firm's shows in black.

DarkSteven -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 5:29:49 PM)

I'm black.

So do you wimmins want to file the discrimination suit, or do us mens do it?

pahunkboy -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 5:30:35 PM)

I don't think you should be wasting your time in chat rooms!

TreasureKY -> RE: sexist (1/13/2011 5:35:17 PM)

I'm not that chuffed about it, Steven.  [;)]

As my profile is hidden on the other side anyway, I did do an experiment and changed my gender to male.  It turned black.  Changing back to female, it turned red again.

By the way, transgendered is red, too.
