Absolutely no idea, sorry, but I think it's something worth pursuing! I was wondering just yesterday if I would ever meet someone who wanted this.
I hope you get insightful advice, and I hope you can become a pro!

Once you've had the required training, you need to find a domme to apprentice under while you study for your dominatrix certification exam. After passing the test and completing your apprenticeship, you can hang your shingle and open for business!

where do I go for training?

That is a personal choice you need to make based on your individual desires as a domme and if your application meets the minimum requirements of the institution you're hoping for. Competition can be intense to get into the best schools, so it always helps to pad your resume with as many extra curricular activities and charitable work as possible. Whatever you decide on, make sure you attend an accredited institution. With the rise in the popularity of professional dominatrix brought on by the poor overall job market, fly by night schools are popping up all over the Internet.

Seriously now!

Theres a lot worth learning if you want to go into Pro Domming. How to do first aid, how to monitor a client, how to remember who is who, how to take and keep notes, how to properly clean your dungeon when your on limited time between clients, how to train your receptionist which I strongly recommend, How to be safe, how to answer your phone and how to avoid the law is an important lesson. What sort of wardrobe and equipment your going to need, what sort of domination you want to use, how much to charge and how to go about getting a deposit from new clients and how to dominate each and every personality that is going to come through your door.

Most pro Dommes don't want another new Domme working on their doorstep and so its unlikely you will get in as an assistant. I wrote to dozens of Dommes and got turned down by most. The few that were interested lived some distance away and they wanted to be reassured that I wasn't going to be opening a dungeon near theirs and they wanted to charge me for working a 12 hour day. I eventually found a very reputable Domme who was looking for a full time receptionist/assistant and she was offering a very small wage and expected me to sign a contract. I never let on that I wanted to eventually open my own dungeon but I guess the reality is, she knew that.
She was popular and so I worked very hard for peanuts. All my salary paid for was the commute but what it enabled me to do was to learn with the best and that paid dividends later on when I did open my own dungeon (respectfully some miles away from her)

So my advice would be, look up who is working in an area your willing to travel to and write to them and ask if they are needing an assistant or receptionist. Be prepared to be knocked back but don't let that deter you. Before you except any offer, check out their reputation and when you do eventually set up on your own place, don't steal her clients.
Also get yourself along to as many workshops as possible.

Don't be tempted to do this from home. Look out for cooperatives or local dungeons for hire if you can't initially afford a your own chambers.

Good luck

I'd think the first step would be a little experience (AND expertise) at just being a domme...! And a positive reputation goes a looooong way.... Ok, you've chosen a suitably exotic & cliche'd screen name, BUT....

I just took a squiz at your profile and fair dinkum, ol' mother Hubbard had more to offer her dog than you're displaying. All the fantasy dom/mes want a harem of slaves blah blah and I can understand you wanting to get paid for it ta boot - BUT EXACTLY WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES *YOU* WORTH PAYING FOR????? Me, I'd like to be a pro golfer but there's all those pesky requirements like talent and skill etc before anyone will send me invites and pay the big bucks....

So yeah, why shouldn't we just consider you to be a phony and a scammer?

Errrrm, welcome to CM.... :)

Focus.

allthatjaz -> RE: Pro Domme questions (1/11/2011 4:14:23 PM)

I agree with you about being the best Focus. There are many pro Dommes out there and so you need a unique selling point. You have to be a good business woman and that means a great website that is constantly updated and certainly NOT trying to get clients from sites such as CM. You have to work your little ass off just like any other business you want to succeed. You need to have a plan and stick to it, set yourself key performance indicators and you need a good support structure.
There are many women that go on to be good pro Dommes that have had no experience before being trained. I worked alongside a woman who was totally submissive and she had exceptional talent when it came to domination.
Anyone who is prepared to get the right teacher and anyone who takes this seriously enough and is dedicated enough to learn the ropes could have the ability to become very good pro Domme. The most important thing is to treat it as a job and this is unfortunately what most pro Dommes don't do.
Its those that do it in a half hearted way, those who believe they are going to earn a lot of money for very little work that are disillusioned.
Reputation is much easier to build when your working for a Mistress with a good reputation. If she's decent your going to be added to her website, your going to get seen out there in the paying world and not the world of CM where you would waste precious hours talking to potential clients that you will never see. Why any pro Domme would use the free forums in here to try and sauce clients is beyond me.

I think her question was a perfectly reasonable one.

SexyBossyBBW -> RE: Pro Domme questions (1/11/2011 10:10:12 PM)

Google and read lots of BDSM  books, learn submissiv/slave protocols, be a natural dominant/have presence and authority about you, and learn what most bottoms or submissives want/seek.     M

P.S. As already said, go to play parties, classes, volunteeer, learn how to play without doing harm, get experience, or get a really good defense attorney.     M

Well, if I were going to do it, this is what I would do: study psychology and maybe even take a college course or two in counseling, watch a lot of porn to see what kind of an image to project, do some research to see what sort of fetishes most of the lifestyle women around here don't do (cause as a pro I would get them) and gain experience with them, gain general experience in the lifestyle with the basic skillset of topping, develop a command presence and do more research on what I might want in a dungeon, and consult a lawyer on how to do this with the minimum risk of getting arrested.
