Edwynn -> RE: Polar Bear defeats Snowball cams (and others!) (1/1/2011 2:01:10 PM)

FR Polar bears are too fat, says someone here. Mama bears are the most amazing things, whether polar or grizzly or black bear. They sleep for ~4 months, and with no food, grow two cubs inside their bodies. Then the cubs come out and feed off mama for another two months, mama herself still having not a bite to eat in all this time. Then she leads them out of hibernation and spends almost a month teaching the kids how to climb up and down the mountain or to swim in the 30' F ocean (because it's salty and doesn't freeze at 32' F) before finally, 5-6 months after her last meal, she starts hunting. And all somebody can say about it is that "she is too fat." Humans have too much fat in their brains, no question. But for those inclined to these cloying and sentimental animal stories, which I myself have no use for whatever, there could be of interest also the story of Christian the lion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btuxO-C2IzE&NR=1 Turn the sound off!! before watching. As with most such videos, some idiot human put entirely inappropriate and thoroughly distracting "soundtrack" to it.
