I keep a large calendar in the kitchen and everything is supposed to go in there, sports games, college orientations, dentist appt's, just so we can all keep track of stuff. If it isn't written down, it doesn't exist, as far as I can tell.

They're always complaining about not knowing what the other is doing or when, and about scheduling conflicts. So up goes a 3 month dry-erase calendar. I told her, as soon as she knows about something, she should put it up there (as opposed to springing last minute "Oh I forgot to tell you about..." on him all the time). Hopefully they'll be consistent with this and that will solve their scheduling woes.

Otter and I are very social, so we always having something going on. I have much more skill around keeping track of engagements, and when he wants to do something, he asks for my final approval. If it's something for his work, he tells me about it, so I can factor that into our activities. We do use Google calendar as a tool, but he doesn't look at it on a daily basis. It's just the two of us, so while I put things on the calendar, I don't need to refer to it on a daily basis. As LnT said works in her household, the task lives with the person most capable...it's not power dynamic or gender based. (which I think keeps everyone the happiest)

daddy too, he's not interested in going to events very much, he's a homebody.
